I'm sure it's one of those things that when I "get" it, it won't be a problem.
I need to practise.It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
Nikks, are going to bring some pics of your place? I am really curious to see it (ok, I confess, just nosy really
)
Oooh yes please. Definitely bring pics.lemonjelly wrote: »I'd be unable to get either part of the day of the event off to get there in time, or part of the next day to allow me to get back in time, off work.
It is very very likely that if London, I'd need to train there/back.
Perhaps next time, with a bit more notice it'll be possible?:)
Pity. But understandable, of course. I'm only coming becuase the day of the week in question is one when my hours finish rather early. Here's hoping you can make it to Nikkster's house warming, when she feels ready for one.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
Friendly builder and mate-with-digger have dug up the drain. There is nothing wrong with it, and the tree roots, although nearish, hadn't breached it.
They have explained what happened before I moved in. I got a drain company to investigate the drains. They told me over the phone that they had put a camera down, and found that the tree was damaging the drain. I made several attempts to get them to send me the DVD and the bill, but they never sent me either, so in the end I gave up.
Friendly builder says this is almost certainly because they knew perfectly well there was nothing wrong with the drain, and were gambling on me not asking for the DVD but just commissioning them to "repair" it, which they would be able to do with obviously very little effort and then charge me lots for. Since all I did was ask for the DVD, they couldn't send it because it didn't show what they'd claimed, so that's why they never sent the bill.
So, I will have to pay the friendly builder for digging it up to check, but I still think it was worth doing since the garden needed levelling anyway, and the wrongfully accused tree was blocking a lot of light and taking up space that I'd rather have as grass. Am feeling v glad the rip off drain people didn't get any money out of me.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Oh where are my manners?
Belated happy birthday Missk!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
