Congratulations on exchanging contracts, Nikkster!
You now officially joined the Home Owning Class (with capitals) and can start hip thrusting, fist pumping and attend Homeowner Parties. You will now probably be tempted to post outside the NP thread about how your asset (some will call it “pile of bricks”) increased in price when Hamish links to another Haliwide report full of positive MOM’s and YOY’s with the obligatory  at the end. Don’t expect a thanks from rewired though. Also, please refrain from putting your Mortgage Free Challenge in your signature, or you might be mistaken for someone else. If you choose to put House Price indexes in your signature, make sure they are up to date. And finally, ignore the ones who claim you should have bought bitcoins, gold, silver or garlic (the only REAL stores of wealth) instead of a house.
But most of all: enjoy your new HOME.
Don't forget the gin and tonics0 -
I had my colours done and a deep peach is supposed to be good for me, not so sure, though happy to walk around in bright orange!

What do you mean, had your colours done? Hope you're feeling a bit calmer, and that Mr. Bugs is stable. And finally, ignore the ones who claim you should have bought bitcoins, gold, silver or garlic (the only REAL stores of wealth) instead of a house.

I think you should have BOTH - a home, and some garlic in a cupboard in the kitchen.lemonjelly wrote: »In other news, I am finally eating my own red tomatoes!!!!
Did you plant your toms very late? They seem quite delayed, compared with ours (both windowsill and outdoors)....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Yes, it does seem late...we are nearly done with our toms (outdoors) and have been eating the most tasty toms since late July.
There are several nice sized green ones still hanging, but I doubt if they will ever ripen.0 -
Fried green tomatoes. Yum.
We have lots of green ones still. We'll probably move some into a window sill at the weekend, just in case.....0 -

My Mama makes the most gorgeous green tomato chutney, shall I acquire the recipe?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Oooh...I don't think Mrs. Wheezy ever made a chutney and not sure if she will ever attempt it, but thanks for the offer, NDG!0 -

What about you, though?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

Obviously the trend for irrelevant celebrities to release "autobiographies" at the age of 22 does not fall into the fascinating category because they haven't actually done anything. Embarrassingly my interest in autobiographies may have started when I found a discarded copy of Peter Stringfellow's autobiography in the bed draw of a rental house I moved into. It was a surprisingly interesting read. Not that I can recall any of the content...
At the library today I was asked for a copy of "Princess Diana's latest autobiography".Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I had a look on the back of an EDF bill last week, to be amazed at the fact they seem to offer one of the lowest emission energy supplies in the UK.
If I seem a little grumpy, it's Stoptober, and I'm trying (again)

In fact, I'm probably too old to be dressing like that now too.
oooh that's rubbish....you are nowhere near too old (!).
My biggest regret is my lack of confidence to wear all sorts of things and also make-up when I was younger.
To make up for it I have just bought myself some sugar pink 3/4 Uggs.
You know, now I am 50 I will wear purple and all that.;)Itismehonest wrote: »Oh no  They remind me of the horrible knitted swimsuits that we kids of the 50s used to be put in.
Not so bad out of the water but after we'd been in we all looked like we were overdue for a loo visit as, when wet, they stretched. Add gravity & they went well beyond the bounds of decency. Crutch was always below the knees
Then there was the fashion for knitted or crocheted dresses & trouser suits. Slightly more glamorous but still reminiscent of walking tea cosies or those dolls used as loo roll covers.
omg I had a pair of handmade crochet loons when I was a kid in the late 60's / early 70's and matching 'gilet' (geeeelay). Both knitted by my mother and in bright orange.Doozergirl wrote: »Reminiscent of what granny would knit for Tiny Tears!
I've been wearing one of your dresses today. One that just about disguises muffin top
Congrats on the house Nikks :T0
