That was quick. You are a talented lady!
DW reminded me that she'd bought me a cashmere jumper for my birthday. Now, of course, I'm afraid to wear it. All my jumpers have holes in.
But she must know that?
I have a feeling that Mrs GBD doesn't sneak too many buys in... I would guess that you treat her to things she wouldn't normally splash out on.0 -
Aaarrgh. I'm not sure I'm going to sleep much tonight. Feeling rather over-excited0

So.... I finally have an update.
Contracts were exchanged at just before 4 today.
I'm tagging a weekend seeing a friend (and going to see Bruno Mars) as I'm in the area for work this week.
I return southwards on Sunday.
We have agreed to complete the transaction on Monday
I had a peek through the front ground floor windows on Saturday (couldn't resist), and I am the proud soon-to-be owner of a floral three-piece suite, at least one bed, a wardrobe, desk, dining table and 4 chairs; I'm guessing that most of the furniture has been left upstairs too.
I am half very excited and half equally scared sh!tless about committing the next 30 years (hopefully less) to paying back a significant sum every month. But I'm looking forward to allowing myself to start making a scrapbook (or similar) of plans for my little castle.

Well done Nikkster! If you have a house warming, please can I come?lostinrates wrote: »I've done nothing ALL day.
Neither have I. DD has been home off school with a bit of a tummy bug, and although she hasn't needed much direct looking after, it's been enough of an excuse for me not to do most of what I was planning to do. (My part time teaching hours don't include Mondays this term.)Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Wait long enough that'll be back in fashion and you'll be ahead of the curveI won't have the first idea what to do with so many rooms0 -

Normally if I get my hair coloured in autumn I might get some strawberry blonde, or copper lights put through the tortoiseshell. I think I'm going a bit darker this time as well, for autumn.
But rosacea and anything even slightly red seem a bad idea......:(. I cannot decide.....
Safer option is to go for blonde highlights.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Congratulations Nikkster!
Yesterday started badly after approx 1 hour sleep, courtesy of a school muck up we discovered on Sunday night which meant youngest went into school yesterday very tired, grouchy and stressy....but ended pretty well with youngest happy and a trip to the seafront for ice cream.
I stuck to a cup of tea though, my waistline def does not need the addition of ice cream! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -
Hah, found one...this is more 'brochure' (pronounced '
brrow-shurrre')...my view from my pool.
Why I thanked someone for posting a picture which has sent my complexion green with envy, I don't know! It does look fabulous.neverdespairgirl wrote: »I like some of those, this is gorgeous:
but I agree with the majority, you need to be seriously slim and toned to wear most of those clothes.
I'm not keen on the peach jumper, partly, I think, because peach is just such a no-no for my colouring, it would look awful with my hair and skin. Blue, dark red and silver are good for me, though, so is teal.
I had my colours done and a deep peach is supposed to be good for me, not so sure, though happy to walk around in bright orange!So.... I finally have an update.

Congratulations on exchanging contracts, Nikkster!
You now officially joined the Home Owning Class (with capitals) and can start hip thrusting, fist pumping and attend Homeowner Parties. You will now probably be tempted to post outside the NP thread about how your asset (some will call it “pile of bricks”) increased in price when Hamish links to another Haliwide report full of positive MOM’s and YOY’s with the obligatory  at the end. Don’t expect a thanks from rewired though. Also, please refrain from putting your Mortgage Free Challenge in your signature, or you might be mistaken for someone else. If you choose to put House Price indexes in your signature, make sure they are up to date. And finally, ignore the ones who claim you should have bought bitcoins, gold, silver or garlic (the only REAL stores of wealth) instead of a house.
But most of all: enjoy your new HOME.0
