Me too! Although in fact I had to drop DD off somewhere at 10:00 and pick her back up at 1:00, so I couldn't realistically have come.
Am trying to chase up replies for DD's birthday party on Tuesday. Some replies are on my old phone (which now belongs to DD but she's let it run out of battery and then lost it somewhere in the house). Some were on the first incarnation of my new phone (which died and had to be replaced after a week). To cap it all, DD has lost the list of people that she invited, so I'm not exactly sure whose replies to chase up. Oh well, I'm sure it'll all work out somehow.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
If she sent a bottle of this it would definitely go on eBay!

I wonder how good that stuff really is. I'd b too scared to risk it with my fussy skin and the fact that it really is a good deposit on the whole nip tuck, lift and proper job for a few years ..........0 -
thank you for the best wishes everyone. not heard anything yet, so if you can keep everything crossed for a bit that would be great.
sorry to hear about mr bugs, bugslet. If you need a vent outlet, then we're always here to listen.
lir, what goodies did you get? I'm down to using elemis and I already thought that was expensive enough
had a lovely afternoon with the fashionista, we went across the river on the cable car and had a lovely natter. She sends her best to everyone,0 -

Best back through the ether to her.....
Well...
If I say what I got do I risk michaels or pastures will toting up what was spent then being hounded off Mse for bad behaviour?
Hmm.
I got some nuxe cleanser and very gentle toner. I haven't toned for a long time because of skin finding it a bit tough but I cannot exfoliate any more either and skin lacks,,.,'oomph'.
Darphin serum and cream.
Rodial bb cream. (I have a nearly full very pale ginseng bb cream that my skin hates if anyone can use it)
Um, lipstick, and um, lip pencil.... (I'm dropping brands now...its all just too much)
Eyebrow liner and eyebrow gel. I never thought I would buy brow gel. Ever. I don't even have proper eyebrows.
A what ever it is that touch! !clat is, but not touch! !clat.
Edit: I left the mascara, a two really beautiful eyeshadows that are grown up but not boring....a sort of subtle bronze cream and a smokey grey power which over the bronze turned warm and luscious. (Actually, I think I want them both) and a liquid liner pen. So much easier than the old fashioned liquid pots and brushes I use. And it has stuck like glue)
I think having started going through jewellery for a checkout, I might start a makeup chuck out too. I have really old unflattering stuff. I'm not sure I'm ready to let go of all my bright eyeshadows yet tbh, but maybe a big proportion of them.
I think I'm having a bit of a transition. I don't want to be someone else. But I'm not going to be twenty three again. I think a lot of what I have thought is that if I got well I'd be able to pick up life where it left off, and actually, that's just not going to happen now...and that us perfectly fine.. (I mean the picking up life in my early twenties, not that I am resigning to not getting well. ) having an excellent week actually..

Gulp!!! How much!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

If she sold here place would their be the money for that? I think they are quite pricey aren't they? (I mean, I have no idea, but I guess so?) Is there one near where she is now so her network stayed as it is?
Her network is not functioning because she refuses to socialise with all but a small handful of people. She would consider an apartment in a block that had a porter/ concierge and was generally occupied by older people. Problem is that they only exist in very expensive areas as far as I can see.
Really a flat in a block where most of the people are older and it is near here would work for us.PasturesNew wrote: »The luxurious ones can be pricey, plus you have the charges on top for whatever help you need (more over time). I enquired about one for my mum, there was one in the county where I was living; it's in the middle of nowhere, so you'd be trapped within. The price I got was about £200k, plus there was the £1000/month or so that'd be needed for her meals, socialising, service charges etc. We didn't quite have the £2k and the £1k would be touch and go.
It really wouldn't have been a solution as she deteriorated beyond that stage.
What's needed is somewhere that people can move along through the system seamlessly. Everything for old people is disjointed at the moment.
Might be better if Silver builds a granny flat
Silver would be divorced if she built a granny flat!!!!
Agree on the need for seamless moves. I know there are old peoples homes that have dementia units attached and I have a friend with a parent in a self contained unit that adjoins an old peoples home. So they must exist.
But my Mum is young and really shouldn't be needing care at this age. She is bereaved, underweight and has some health issues. Though I believe the last is excasperated by the first 2.
Finance is another issue. I didn't realise that Dad did everything, so she gets in a state everytime a bill lands because she doesn't know what to do. She also has "money guilt" that Dad worked all his life and now can't enjoy spending his pension/ retirement pot. So she is reluctant to spend anything on herself.
I have offered to help with the finance, but she is very private about their money.
I really feel that if I am going to have sole responsibility, she needs to be near here.
We are taking her with us next week - to the flat overseas for a few days.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
