    Good luck Missk.

    Spirit, fingers crossed for you.

Is this the time to mention that I used to be a semi-pro bellydancer ( emphasis on the word used - think younger and thinner!)

For some reason it's very busy at Bugs trucking, I think it could be everyone coming back off their holidays and catching up, maybe it will continue. Skived out of the office yesterday for a nice amble up to Barrow in a small van - I tell you, it's not real work:p.

Yesterday was the first time when I was unsure if Mr Bugs recognised me or not. He is undoubtedly getting worse in terms of the dementia and we are waiting for a CT scan appointment as there is a strong suspicion that the cancer is moving up a gear.

That's hard. I'm so sorry to hear that. :(
    Hugs to you.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Hugs Bugslet, it must be very difficult and upsetting.
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

    Aww :(
It's tough isn't it. Doing stuff and knowing they're sitting there obliviously staring out of the window .... and when you DO go you're either in the way, they repeat everything they said last time.... or they're not sure who you are.

Before my mum went into care I'd read a letter to her she'd received and laid out the photos that came with it next to her. 15 minutes later she told me that my sibling hadn't told her about the photos when she'd read the letter out. I said "I read the letter out". Then she used my name and said "XYZ read it out" - at this point I realised that she had NO idea that I was XYZ, she wasn't recognising me. So I asked her "who am I?". It went downhill from there. She was getting us all mixed up, thought I was the older one, but couldn't remember my name either.

Poor you! Poor Mr Bugs! It's a crying shame to see someone you love deteriorate like that.

In case it helps, my DW is finding it increasingly difficult dealing with her elderly mother. DW is a really kind, caring person, and even so she's getting frustrated. It's hard, and it often seems that her mother is being deliberately obstructive. And DW's mother's dementia is not all that bad.

I really cannot imagine what you are going through, Bugslet, and how hard it must be for you.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

It would probably be simpler to marry an orphan. :)

My mum's dementia was of a different kind - destroyed her capacity for concentration and connected thought rather than her memory - but my grandmother was like that. Once she started finding names difficult, she developed a strategy of calling everybody "darling" so it didn't matter if she didn't know who they were.
