I [STRIKE] bought [/STRIKE] met my wife in Thailand. 86 was a good vintage.

A couple of drinks more and it could have been so different, but I remembered to check and got lucky with number 3.

I traded her in for 2 camels at Al Qassim some 18 months later. We still keep in touch through hotwebcams dot com...

Why would anyone want a second wife?

    You'd end up with 2 Mothers-in-Law

It's not hard to find men who love the idea of sharing, who'll smile wistfully and say what it might mean to them and what it wouldn't damage and so on and so forth. Until one suggests the share goes the other way. That separates those who really believe the stuff they were saying from the rest!

    DH isn't a sharer.

Polygamy - being told what to do by more than one wife?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

LL on HutH on telly just now said "I don't get tenants to pay money into my bank, I come round every month to collect the rent, sit down with them and look around the house" - and he was presenting this as a good LL situation.

I wonder if this is a man thing? NP men, what do you think? AIUI polygyny has been practiced in far more societies historically than polyandry.

Most polygynous societies have been those in which women are more or less regarded as property. Societies in which men are regarded as women's property are much rarer.

Besides, with polygyny, everyone can still tell whose kids are whose (if nobody's been cheating, of course) whereas with polyandry that's more complicated (unless you have DNA testing).

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

Somebody needs to explain the phrase "quiet enjoyment" to him.

It's nothing serious, and a huge breakfast (see below) seems to have sorted the problem. I got it for free, for photographing it and putting it on Facebook (it only opened last year), but I'm going to bed in a minute, as I really need to rest!

I've calculated my in/out/car tracking system (all company cars have this), and it seems I've worked 61h since Monday, including commuting, which probably teaches me I shouldn't have weeks off in one go!

I know people who adopted and then had their own children; two couples I know adopted because they thought they couldn't have naturally but a few years down the line it all happened and one couple who adopted and then IVF techniques improved somewhat and were able to overcome their particular issue.

I don't know anyone who has adopted after having their own.

We were at the stage, where we have tried for a third, but it hasn't happened :(

We'd rather take care of a child that's been spat out of the Georgian care system, as we both speak the language and feel that there's a lot we can offer (as we're both still young in terms of those with a teenager)

There's a lady who started hanging around the Russian community in London about 5 years ago, as she wanted to learn Russian following the adoption of a (then 8yr old) girl from Russia. Her name was Katya, and she's just passed her GCSE exams with 8 A*'s (4 languages, including Russian), 2 A's, and a B (in English Lit). She's off to study for A-Levels at the school my girls are at (a Russian school in London, hence the weird traditions mentioned earlier).

This was after the lady's own children had grown up, and having been born to two drug addicted parents, then faced the horrors of the Russian care system, she wants to study Medicine at Cambridge (partly as my mother lectures on part of the courses as an Honorary Consultant). I've 'mentored' her for the last 5 years, and whilst still with a Russian accent, her English is perfect, so I wish her all the success she could possibly have!

ETA: Please don't believe that the new Fox show on Russians in London is typical, as it really isn't!
