My debt busting diary!

Nice surprise yesterday - had a missing cashback claim credit in my account. Had been chasing it since August so had pretty much given up but £63 was added to my account yesterday :j should be payable by the end of January.
Tuesdays eBay sales totalled £43 so really pleased with that. Still waiting on a buyer from Sunday and one from Tuesday to pay. Will give them until the end of the week
12 days until payday, accounts for once look almost on track - it'll be tight but completely do able with a little bit of self discipline!0 -
Slight confession..... Was hoping to use the eBay money for the cc, however I've managed to win 2 wardrobes on eBay for £80. Over the moon as they match our existing bedroom furniture and got outbid on the last one at £90 just for 1 - so think I've got a bargain. Both mine and OH wardrobes are literally falling to pieces so we were getting pretty desperate!
Need to see what's left once they're paid for and will pay the rest off the card. Had an item sell on Thursday for £5 and have more finishing tonight, so far with only £5 bid but it all helps. Another 2 non paying bidder reports filed tho grrrrrr! So frustrating.0 -
Item sold for £5 last night, every little helps and all that. Going to wait and relist the other bits on the next free listing day.
£55.42 paid off the card this morning. Hoping to make another payment before the months out but how much that'll be who knows.
Hoping for a low spend week. The only planned spend is for a couple of new tyres for OH car, this is coming out the emergency fund so not really counting it as such. Going to try and make do with the food we have in - just need to keep OH away from the supermarket!0 -
Need to have word with myself - feeling on a bit of a downer over the whole money saving / debt paying lark today. Just when you think things are going okish a spanner gets chucked in the works. OH tyres have cost £120 each which has pretty much wiped out what was left to pay towards credit card, so no more payments til payday
£66 has become payable in my cashback account. Think I'll put this towards Christmas for now and see how December pans out rather than commit it to the card straight away.
Better news on the weight front - lost a lb this week which means I got my stone award :j. One down and at least another half to go...0 -
Quick update for November.....
Overdraft was £0 still £0 :j
Credit card was £3176.69 (26/10) now £2792
Total paid off in November = £384.69
Weight loss for November = 4lb
Aims for November:
1. Keep overdraft account in the black - done
2. Pay at least £450 off credit card - missed by £65.31
3. Keep food spend under £200 - lost track
4. Lose at least 4lb to make total weight loss 1 stone - done
5. Make at least £15 amazon GC via swagbucks - done
6. Purchase another 3 Christmas pressies - done
Slightly missed the cc goal but given the expense for OH car and the wardrobe purchase I'm not gonna beat myself up about it too much! Everything else was pretty much on track although still gotta get a grip on food spend grrrrr!
Aims for December.......
1. Pay at least £200 off credit card
2. Keep overdraft account in black
3. Keep spending diary on food spend
4. Get through Christmas having maintained 1 stone weight loss
5. Make £15 amazon GC on Swagbucks
6. Make £50 on eBay (may be a wee bit ambitious but we'll see!)0 -
Congrats on the weight loss!
Also, i like your aims for December - i might just have to steal that idea:rudolf: DF by Xmas 2018: #83 £8,250/£15,000 55% :rudolf:

Free listing on eBay from tomorrow until Sunday night for private sellers as well0
-
Thanks Caz- free listing taken advantage of once again!
Had a few items end last night which made about £25, so have a lunch time of queuing at the post office to look forward to.
Have pretty much finished the Xmas shopping now :j hate the hassle of town in December so like to get it done nice and early. Most of it's wrapped aswell so just waiting on the tree to put everything under!0 -
Can feel myself falling off the wagon
need to get my act together pretty quick! Just seemed to have been spend spend spend at the mo, unable to resist a bargain- must get back on track.
Weight loss wise I lost another pound this week taking total loss to 1st 2.5lb in about 12 weeks- really pleased with that although I fear this weeks weigh in will see my first gain since I started. Got a few days to try and make amends but not sure it's going to happen!
Managed to swag another £5 amazon card altho again i seem to have lost motivation there too. Need to get back on with it as they have helped so much with the Christmas shopping this year, would be nice to be in the same position next year.
eBay sales have pretty much dried up, so doubt I'll be listing again before Christmas. Need to have a good clear out and gather together some more eBay / car boot fodder for the new year.
I'm not sure whether to change tact slightly in the new year and look to split the spare income between paying off the credit card and savings. I'm getting increasingly aware that my beloved old banger could give up at anytime and the moment we'd have no way of replacing it without the use of credit or family loan not a great position to be in....0 -
Not a lot to report but I thought I'd post anyway to try and keep my motivation up......
Weight wise I've put 1.5lb on this week. It's been coming for a while so can't complain, need to get refocused and dust off the old food diary. Ideally would love to lose a few lb this side of Xmas.
Money wise I've had a rejig and the overspend isn't quite as bad as first thought. Should still be able to pay £150-£200 off the credit card this month. Gonna hold off doing it til nearer the end of the month tho.
Have restarted my change pots and will be collecting 20ps, 2ps, 1ps and 5ps. This gave me about £60 towards Christmas this year and that was only March to September so hopefully by starting sooner I should be able to increase this.
Hoping for a nice quiet NSD today - will see how it goes ......0
