Got my email but it only mentions the rise in line rental ... nothing more than that... Strange how some are getting different price rises.

We’re changing our prices from October 2013:

    • Your line rental will be £15.40 a month from your October bill. This is still cheaper than BT.
    • Any calls you make outside your bundle will be slightly higher from 1st October 2013. Find all
    the details at talktalk.co.uk/callprices

Try to open your mind and not be so insular - it's not just about you.

As I said previously, any anomalies need to be publicised for the benefit of consumers - read the posts and try to reach a considered opinion.

Banging on about these issues often results in publicity, which is the only weapon we have in a fight for better consumer protection.

I along with many other like minded people voluntarily get involved with forums etc with the sole aim of improving the way companies impose their unfair rules and conditions - with some success such as in the energy sector

If your personal agenda prevents you from supporting their efforts, I can only suggest you eat your Snickers and think again.

I'll not be responding any longer to your uninformed puerile comments

    Uninformed, puerile comments?

What do I need to be informed about?

I need to be informed of the change of terms and conditions by Plusnet in a timely manner. DONE,

I need to be informed of price rises in a timely manner. DONE.

I need to be allowed to either leave without penalty or renegotiate my tariff due to still being under contract. DONE.

I need to have a way to air my complaint about the changes whilst I am still under contract. DONE.

What else is there that I need to know?
What else should Plusnet do, without mentioning the obvious of course.

You are just a sad individual with to much time on your hands.
You like to pretend you are a warrior fighting injustice for the good of mankind, when really you are just a noisy keyboard warrior acting like a 12 year old.

There is day light through those curtains, go take a look!

    Hi,

Bob, please explain this apparent contradiction

If we've agreed something in writing then we would aim to honour it. That doesn't mean our system is going to charge you correctly when your LRS is renewed next year. This may result in you having to contact us, argue your point again and mess about getting a refund processed.

I'm offering to check the situation to avoid that happening.

    Simple really, either you:

    1. Accept my offer, or
    2. Decline my offer despite my suspicion that you might end up being charged more than you expect next year

Choice is yours? I see little point in continuing to debate matters, we're just going round in circles.

    Best regards,

I just wanted to ask whether anyone decided to leave talk talk after they announced price rises and whether you were actually charged anything in the end.

I told them I wished to leave and informed them within 30 days of receiving the email. I declined their offer of £2 credit per month. I have since had a few messages from them, first it was £54 to leave them, then it was £90+ then it was £0 but I don't trust them, so I'm just wondering if anyone had problems leaving them. I'm due to be disconnected next week but worried they may add a heap of charges to my account.
  • My 12 month contract with them is up next month. If I don't get a good retention deal then I'll be moving to somewhere else.

I have another 6 months left on my contract, I am leaving them due to the price rises and apparently there is no early disconnection charges, or are there?

You had 30 days from the date of the email TT sent telling you about the price rise to get out for free.
I got my email on 6/8/13, you may have missed the boat.

The other thing is, whoever you move to, you`ll be paying MORE.

I thought I would resurrect this thread seeing as PlusNet are doing the same underhand sneaky thing of putting up the prices again, regardless of contract status.

Indeed, I just did a search to see if there was anything based on the recent e-mail I got from Plusnet, read through this thread only to find out it is a year old... so they did this last year as well?!

I'm not impressed as I only joined Plusnet just over 2 months ago on their fibre optic broadband - mainly because of their supposed great support (where? they take days and days to answer a question via e-mail and then it's useless... or you're in a queue for a good 15 minutes before anyone answers the phone!) and cheaper pricing.

Instead it looks like the pricing has gone up (so now seems to match EE / TalkTalk pretty much in my area) and not to mention my speeds vary from 20mbps up to 60mbps to slower than dialup. Not impressed!

It mentioned there are NO cancellation fees... so does that mean everything? Is it easy to move to another broadband company and not lose any service... if on fibre?

Also, I know the fibre is all BT's network right... so does that mean the speed problems I'm having will be the same whoever I go with as they just 'rent' the line from BT or something like that?
