I am not sure if you have read the thing on the left hand side saying be nice to new comers? I don't have time to read every thread and each case is different regardless, so please be patient with me.

    Not being nice?

I gave you the bullet points to help you on your way. Have you seen how many threads there are being answered today and just how do you think regulars who try to help react to people who write "I don't have time to read every thread and each case is different regardless, so please be patient with me."

The fact that you failed to see any recent threads about Peel Centre in the last 4 weeks, the fact you didn't know what a PPC is, the fact that you don't see the point of getting photos of the signs when one of the basic appeal points is poor signage just shows me that you have not done any decent research and want the services of a solicitor free from the regulars on here without having to put yourself out.

Sorry, that isn't how it works. This is the holiday season, a number of regulars are away and when there is a stack of advice on file already, we need to ration our help.

I don't want an argument with you and would be willing to help you if you help yourself - just look at my posts over the last week - but if you think I am not being "nice", I am happy to but out.

    Well said GD.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Some OPs seem to expect to have a fish supper delivered to their home.

Well if this one doesn't show a bit more willing, he had had his chips from me! Not even scraps.

First thing, Desmond, is please start your own thread. We operate a one problem per person per thread and tailor our advice to the thread starter and we don't want to get things confused with other problems on the same thread.

So, if you do that, someone will help you.

Nicely put GD - and some newbies wonder why we have a short fuse at times :rotfl:

Desmond - you got off lightly there pal, but do heed advice and start a new thread :)

Now, in terms of POPLA here's a few links to start you off:

    http:// forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=61808935&postcount=2

Just reading this now and got to the part about having to wait 28 days before they can write to the DVLA to get the registered keeper's details.
The alleged offence happened on 20th July and the letter's issue date is 30/07. So based on this, are they in violation of this and therefore not uh... allowed to try and claim money off me?

The parking charge notice also does not explicitly state "the creditor is xyz" anywhere on it. Does this also strengthen my case?

Ok, so you are researching. Good start.

There are 2 timescales that operate.

If you get a windscreen sticker, then they have to wait 28 days to give you some time to reply.

If, however, they get you with an ANPR Camera, then they must contact you within 14 days. Seems from what you have said, the latter was the case and they are in time.

(There are 2 sections in POFA 2012 paragraphs 8 and 9 with their sub paras.

The letter you got - does it say Notice to Keeper and does it specify your "crime" and also mention POPLA?

They most certainly should not be threatening ccjs.

Oh, does it contain the words "Fine" or "Penalty"?

Can you remember if there were signs at the entrance to the KFC area that spelt out all their t&c.

Lastly, you need to find out if it was a free park or a fixed time that was free.

Come back with all that info and we can help.

That's only if you had a Notice to Driver (NtD), in other words a windscreen ticket stuck on there by a (PPC) parking chimp.

My understanding is that you got an ANPR camera ticket, in which case it's 14 days from the event.

Anyway, at least you're starting to get on with some reading and research and we will help point you in the right direction.

I started just as you did some 6 months ago, totally naive about all this (but without upsetting anyone !!!), did loads of research, reading and taking it all in, to the point where I'm reasonably 'clued up' and confident enough to be offering advice (within my own acknowledged limits - I'm not a lawyer). I didn't have a ticket, but was helping someone close to me - and defeated the enemy (PPC).

So keep going, be aware of deadlines by which to get things done, don't fall foul of them by taking your eye off the ball, but get more and more savvy - the more savvy, the better your chance of success.
