Advice - selling a iphone 5 on eBay

I was just worried ebay would still charge me even tho i didn't sell it. This is the first time this has happened to me.
Your only charge is the FVFs, if you do the full NPB (non paying bidder) dispute as above and buyer does not pay before day 4 , your FVFs are returned as soon as the dispute is closed.
Listing fees are payable whether or not the item sells, but private sellers can list at 99p for free. However why save a few pence in listing fees and risk it going for less than you want, that seems a False economy to me.
You might also want to consider selling it elsewhere instead, like a Facebook selling page or local small ads where you have the safety of cash on collection rather than PayPal.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Thanks for you help. I don't understand why people do this  if i'm bidding on summat on ebay i'm gonna buy it.
Same, but there's many reasons why others don't pay. Changed their minds about the item/price, got the item cheaper, were listing a similar item and didn't like the competition or in some cases just hope that the seller might send the item without getting the payment first. No excuse for no communication, but people just don't seem to care anymore.0 -
That's very unfair - how can they get away with doing this  and why don't ebay ban them?
Most sellers block bidders with 2 or more non paying bidder strikes, so eBay don't need to ban these time wasters, they effectively ban themselves.
The other way of selling the phone would be on a BIN listing with immediate payment required. Just make sure though that as above , your seller preferences are mega tight and you understand the postal requirements to keep yourself safe.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I don't have facebook or twitter but i was thinking of trying gumtree. I'm not sure what to start the bidding at if i do relist. I'm looking at getting around £350-£400 for it.0 -

Oh so if i report this person as a non payer then this is what will happen. I don't understand why anyone would risk getting a ban tho seems silly.0 -

For the age and condition and as a newish seller is that likely? what sort of end prices are achieved on similar phones (check completed listings on eBay).
Your fees on that are going to be very high as well, both eBay and PayPal will charge you so you need to weigh that all up against a different selling platform.
Are you also happy that you understand PayPal requirements for seller protection?I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. If you do list it on Gumtree make sure you do cash on collection only and check the cash is real. Also state the higher end of what you wish to get as people may try and get a better deal.
For ebay, you could start the listing at £400 BIN and have a best offer button (which is free to add). Then if someone offers a lower price that you are happy to take you can accept that.0 -

This is the first time i have sold anything this expensive on ebay. I've had my ebay account for a few years but have always sold small items that have gone for no more than £40 max. What is this seller protection? I really should look in to it. The phone is 4 months old and is very good condition.0 -

Read the sticky thread on postage.
You should read about seller protection BEFORE you relist.0
