Well my good intentions slipped at the last minute today. After a few SFDs (plus a raid on the freezer rather than a trip to the supermarket), I was lured by the thought of one final tub of Ben + Jerrys! I think I'm turning into a "diet and exercise starts on Monday" kinda gal :( However, I was overcharged for the ice cream and got double the difference back at the CS desk so it actually only cost 78p :D

So, tomorrow's a busy day - I'll defrost my last lentil chilli in the morning and get to the supermarket on Tuesday with a shopping list. I've had a look through the Oh She Glows website Kat, fab recommendation :T I can't wait to sit down and plan my meals! Thanks for the chickpea/tinned tomato recommendation Lillian1977, I can't believe I've run out!

My new phone's getting delivered tomorrow :j if I can somehow co-ordinate all my work with the delivery man coming. They send a text with a 1 hour time slot - hugely helpful! Thanks Loveadove for the Asda recommendation for selling my existing phone. I thought I might give O2 a try - they have decent reviews plus they have a price match guarantee. If they change the offer after receiving your phone and you don't like it, they'll send it back free of charge. Although, I'll have a look at Asda as well - good to have options.

So today turned into a spendy one thanks to my inner ice cream junkie! I was literally in and out without a shopping list so a full supermarket visit is on the cards for later this week. In the meantime, my figures look like....
    Food: £58.81/£100
    Petrol: £50/£50
    SFD: 9/20
Misc: £62.14/£100 (still not taken the earphones back for a refund!)

    Hello all,

Saturday's shopping came to £65 plus a cheeky bottle of wine yesterday for £5. Did spend £20 on Friday though so total spent £90.

Bought some walking pants, walking sandals (for my hols) and an anorak and a waterproof (for winter) in a sale yesterday,a total of £75 not budgetted for so I'm going to try and spend £50 each on groceries for the next two weeks to absorb the spend. Hubby's on board for a change so should be possible. He wants us to save as much as possible for holiday spending money you see.

    Hello,

just checking in after my holidays that's why I was AWOL for over a week. Numbers not looking pretty. Kept all my receipts though but haven't tallied them up yet. In between working in the garden and looking after the wee man, hormonal mood swings and the like I didn't have the time yet. Back to work today and I'll catch up and update asap.

    Tada

    Ok here it goes.

    Food 221/150
    HH/extras 66/50 :(
    garden 285/300

We hired a skip (£180!!) only to realise it's not enough and I will need to pay another £180 for a second one. The £50 for the DVLA also hasn't come out yet. This is a sh*t month. Plus I still need to pay £125 for the car service which is currently on my CC. GGrrrrr. I'm so !!!!ed off. It's not even that we could've avoided spending most of it apart maybe from a bit less on food etc.

At least we got quite a lot done in the garden although it still looks like a bomb site. Further costs there will be £100 for a gardener to cut our massive leylandii and materials and labour for our neighbour (£200-300) to built a retaining wall (a lot cheaper than all the other options we contemplated before).

  • Hi everyone

Spendy day today. £10 on a litter tray with a roof plus £4 on litter. I had to - we brought 2, yes 2 foster cats home with us yesterday. A mum and her 6 month old kitten. I'm not allowed to let them outside, and I couldn't bear the mess they left with the old litter tray in one evening so straight out this morning for a cheap one with a roof.

They are gorgeous cats, and really friendly - I don't know how people can just dump cats. But there has been a minor downside. Both of our own cats were pretty freaked out by the new arrivals, and only one of them has come home so far today. It's not like the other one to just disappear so there's a bit of worry going on until he shows his face - I hope it's not too long.

Then I went into H&B and bought myself 2 jars of coconut oil for £15. They were on the penny sale, and I cook everything in coconut oil. I know it's really expensive but I'm assured that it's worth the health benefits and it tastes fantastic.

No plans for the rest of the afternoon. I was going to take the kids out but dd refuses to go anywhere until the cat shows up :(

Oh wannabee, I'm sure kitty will turn up soon. S/he'll walk in like nothing's happened and wonder why you've been worrying. They just take time to adjust to new arrivals. Saying that though, my Tikka's been hissing at Harley since we took him in back in June...he just looks at her as though to say "hmmph!":rotfl:

£5 spent on wrapping paper and meat for butties for this week lunches. No more spending for me this week!

Hope so hismissus... I'd hate to think of driving our cats away whilst trying to do something good. He's normally so soft and easygoing... Kids have been out up and down the street shouting for him, with cat treats. I have told them he'll come back when he's ready.

  • Wanna_Be what one do you get at H&B. I am wanting to start cooking everything in that as well.. I take it it's the Perfectly Pure one. It was on my hit list a while ago due to the reviews but I never got round to getting it. Seems like now is the time with the money off.. that might have to be done tomorrow.

Off to see the Lone Ranger today with a friend. LLL said it was good but since it's very long we are heading in there at 1620... last night we saw The Heat - very funny. Defo worth a visit.

So I feel a bit "blah" today - had to buy cat food online to the grand tune of £26 but I know this stuff is so good. Mumsy is refunding some £££ to the same value to the same value quite unexpectedly so it balances out and by my calculations an SFD... right?

I am a little sleepy mind you and will be heading home from the cinema to create my chilli. Beans currently soaking but as the dish takes 2.5 to boil down apparently I need to get cracking on it whereas mostly these days I just want to curl up in a heap and hibernate...

OT at the weekend was easy I guess. Looking forward to getting next week out of the way..

I also want to purchase an iPad. It mean taking it travelling and being very uber lightweight. Can't justify yet mind you - might be the purchase should any pennies be "leftover" from debt busting - yeah right!

SFD on Satruday and Sunday .. not sure I will make it to the end but I can try...

    Onwards and Upwards !!!

  • It's this one Kat.

I pay £6.50 for a 283g jar in T3sco, so this is a good deal as far as I'm concerned.
