    Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I've been pretty rubbish and not very MSE! Budget has been a bit of a mess, 3/5 days I forgot to take lunch to work! I've been getting pretty down about the lack of money I'm able to save each month, everything costs too much...

From Monday I will be back on the MSE bandwagon and updating daily!

  • Hello Everyone.... I am at work and about to leave in T -55 minutes and counting. I had an SFD yesterday and today will be another one. I am just looking forward to my bed.

I will be reading through all the posts and replying later on today as I am a little popped after a long old night shift. My little eyes are about to go as well.... oh no!

Hope everyone has a splendid Sunday as I am back in work at 1500 for a swift 4 hours shift... then home for a decent nights sleep!

    Onwards!

I think there is a conspiracy going on! I had a NSD planned - was going to spend the day trying to get the bedrooms liveable in again before kids get back from their dads tonight. Took the vertical blinds down, washed them and hung them out! looked out they are blowing nicely in the wind but some of the hems have come down! need to go and get glue to stick them down - so today will be spend day! Not happy!!
  • Hi all

Bagged another sfd yesterday, as I didn't leave the house. The weather was miserable and the boys had taken the car with them to the football. DD and I baked a couple of cakes to keep us entertained and watched a film.

We're having a spendy day today. The last (hopefully) supermarket shop of the month is coming tonight about 5pm (£82.05), which has blown the grocery budget, but thankfully petrol is looking good for the rest of the month.

We're off out for lunch too. We got a voucher for a 2 course Sunday lunch when we got married and we're finally getting around to using it. We do need to pay for drinks but the 4 of us should eat well.

Then this afternoon we are off to our local cat rescue to pick up a foster cat. We got both of ours from there, and I've been wanting to help out more. Unfortunately, it's time they tend to need and I just don't have a lot of that spare at the moment - but they are really overrun with unwanted cats at the moment, and desperate for foster carers. So we've offered to help. Fingers crossed all goes well.

Someone (sorry, brain not working well enough to remember who) was asking about a slow cooker. I love mine - it's 3.5L and does us as a family of 4 for 2 meals usually. It's not an expensive one at all (£11 from Asda a couple of years ago) and does the trick brilliantly. I don't see the point in getting an expensive one, but I don't know what I'm missing as I've never had it. I just know that the cheap one is good enough. I put it on timer in the morning and food is ready when I get in from work at night.

  • Morning All,

Sun is shining and I'm quite proud of myself, did an food audit of whats is cupboards/freezer, actually wrote a list and stuck to it! Had a £4 off voucher for Mr s if spent £20. So shopping cost me £16.45 :).

With a bit of planning I'll have nice meals all week :)

Still not done the charity food donation but one of the other offices has a donation box so must remember next time I go there if i'm still in my job, hopefully I will find out this week if extending, otherwise it's panic stations!

    Eh xx

Good afternoon AAAers & Morning to fellow night shifters!

SFD 10/20. 4 on the trot and halfway! How exciting :T

    Budgets:
    ======
Fuel/car: £50/50 - DH put in the exact amount left in the budget yesterday- £36.41. Bless him. He's a good un!

Food: £94/120. Next and last shop pre-payday planned for Weds.

Milk: £22.99/25. High budget I know. We drink a LOT of milk and currently switching over to 'normal' stuff from Lactofree. Smooth transition so far and if all is well a tiny budget required for next month in comparison. Will probably need another 6 Pinter before end of the month at £1.99 so on track there.

Cash generating: additional £3.20 from an eB.ay sale (woo). Still awaiting sales of big items. Fingers crossed my 2 items sell soon (hoping to get £450 min). More things on eb.ay. Carboot now planned for mid Sept due to my shifts. Done my Herbalife training and now started being a distributor, 3 clients interested so far and appointments made to see all of them next week.

Credit card payments: £256.42. Ongoing, all on 0% now after a balance transfer this week.

Sealed pot £3 Hopefully I'll get more in this soon.

    Alcohol abstinence: 8/28 Aug 11th-Sept 7th

    Sept plans:
We have A LOT to payout :( Off visiting the in-laws in N.Ireland so ferry & fuel to pay for ~ £250-300. Our anniversary so staying in a hotel for one night and diving the following day ~£120. And also doing a mad event called Tough Mudder which will involve a hotel stay (£99) and night out.. It will be the end of my alcohol abstinence! Plus my car tax (£200)!

I have an interview for a job which will give me the same pay as I have now but without working 120 of my 150hrs a month doing nights and weekends. Fingers crossed for that!

    Keep going AAAers.

  • Afternoon all - well Ive been lynched by my best pal - I go to Scotland at the point the house goes up for sale and the sign goes outside - poor love was fielding the whole village for where we were going!! :) The top rumour is that we are planning to buy the bungalow at the other end of the village. We have now said that the house is being sold to a european work gang - it was either that or a brothel - well if rumours are going to fly they might as well be good ones!! :rotfl:

Anyway - doing a bit of work - internet is being a right pain in the "insert appropriate word here"

Still have managed a sfd - also resisted buying my 4 want to read books on holiday and have via internet joined library and reserved books!! Also didnt buy the bag Id seen of fleabay either. Feeling virtuous!!

OOOhh Im and Auntie again - sister in law fired out my latest nephew in 1 hr and 30 minutes. If she has anymore Im going to get her a baseball glove for the baby shower!!

Right onwards - love to all LAGL xxx

PS Judi - re the decorating - having just done a mammoth paint job here you have my full admiration!! :T

Phew! Well that's me all meal planned up! Took a while but I did a full inventory so I shouldn't need to buy anything other than milk for me and the housemate this week.

A SFD day today so that takes me to 6/20 as yesterday was as well, I'm getting there! Another week ahead, have fun everyone.
