Lillian at home my mum says certain productsgo up on Sundays (bread or milk) and back down in price on Mondays. How cheeky is that. Quick check in on my break.
Hubby paid for the cinema last night so I have £7.01 in my purse still
However... spent £21 on pet supplies today and £24 on holiday toiletries (to be refunded from holiday savings) at lunchtime.
Tomorrow is payday, finances already planned, another tight month as we're trying to save for holiday spends (4 weeks to go!) Hubby ha also started a finance excel sheet, he's finally realised mine does help us realise where money goes/needs to go, yay!0 -

Thanks Abundant! I am celebrating with . . . a SFD!
Seriously! I was about to use a voucher I'd been sent by an online retailer to buy a new top as a "birthday treat," but then I realised that
a) I don't NEED a new top
b) What I'd spend would be more than I'd save using the voucher
c) It is more of a treat to myself to keep my money than give it away! (besides the fact that actually I'll be giving it to B4rclays for my overdraft, but that's by the by)

Hi all,
Well I managed to bank another sfd yesterday, but today is most definitely not. I've spent £9 on dd's haircut this morning, and am still waiting to hear about the car. It's been in the garage since 8.30 so I'm not hopeful for a cheap escape today. If it's under £200 I shall consider myself lucky.
Cash is starting to look tight this month. I've sorted through and inventoried all of the food cupboards so I know what we have and what we need. And I'm onto all the mega cheap ways of saving money and free NT days out.
DD has a friend staying tonight. Cheap tea and cheap entertainment ahoy. I just wish she'd be a bit more generous about letting her little brother play sometimes.
Have a good one people...:DNinja Saving Turtle0 -
A spendy spendy day yesterday unfortunately but was worth it for the hard graft that was done, removing ceilings are a fun way to spend your day
Today is a NSD at present and will try to delay any expense until tomorrow where shopping, fuel and other things are required.
As well as a potential sale of a van brought under false pretenses from a friend means Loan 1 could soon be a thing of the pasthappy days if sale turns out to be true
Also set up OP on Mortgage 2 of £10 and according to MSE OP Calculator it will save me £3,899 on interest alone and also cut down repayment term by 1 year and 5 months. All things are looking up.
Not much else to report other than tons of re-decoration work will be done at the end of this month/early September.
Can someone clarify, if Direct Debit's leave my account on any day, do we claim that as an expense on the day or is it purely money you have gone out of your way to spend, i.e. cash from wallet/on c.c.?
