Hello everyone
Sorry I not been on for a while. I did my SOA as stated in my last post but for some reason I can not get it to upload. Whether this is because I did it on a ipad I don't know. But it just would not link together. It would copy but not paste. Anyway not to worry.
On top of that I have been back to the UK and I am going again tomorrow.
After two weeks we was out as a family and my wife said I think we need to increase the budget as I only have £42 left. I kind of brushed over it and hoped she was joking. I've not mentioned it since but its been 3 weeks now since I gave her the £300. I have to ask her for £20 tonight as I picked up a few things from the warehouse today so I will soon find out if any money left. If not and she was serious when she said I only have £42 left then she got through £258 in two weeks!
The arguments have been almost non existent since the bad spell at the end of last month.[STRIKE][/STRIKE]Outstanding debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£77,500[/STRIKE] Jan 12 [STRIKE]£65,800[/STRIKE] Jan 13 [STRIKE]£49,300[/STRIKE] July [STRIKE][/STRIKE]£42,000 August £40,720[STRIKE][/STRIKE]September £38,4000 -
Our financial position is going to become really tough from the end of this month unless we can secure new tenants in our UK property. The rent received not only covered the mortgage but contributed a great deal towards other associated expenses with the house.
I will be about £1500 per month poorer! Our debt repayments will slow down until we get new tenants, credit cards will go back to minimum payments which I hate. The £300 minimum payment I make to virgin is just all interest. I have been making it up to £500 for the last 5 months and if I could have continued like this it would have been cleared in 2 years.
I'm dreading going back to see if and what damage has been caused when he tenants have left.[STRIKE][/STRIKE]Outstanding debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£77,500[/STRIKE] Jan 12 [STRIKE]£65,800[/STRIKE] Jan 13 [STRIKE]£49,300[/STRIKE] July [STRIKE][/STRIKE]£42,000 August £40,720[STRIKE][/STRIKE]September £38,4000 -
Do you have a proper dual signed inventory? is the deposit protected properly and were the tenants sent the presribed information within the deadline? Do you have the HMRC certificate? If you've have not made a mistake, you've made nothing0

Yes it was all done through a letting agent and it had to be a fully managed service to satisfy the building society. It was a six month let and their six months is up. They rented whilst looking for a house to buy which they have done now.
I just going to make sure when the inspection is done that they do not miss anything.[STRIKE][/STRIKE]Outstanding debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£77,500[/STRIKE] Jan 12 [STRIKE]£65,800[/STRIKE] Jan 13 [STRIKE]£49,300[/STRIKE] July [STRIKE][/STRIKE]£42,000 August £40,720[STRIKE][/STRIKE]September £38,4000 -
Hope you get new tenants soon PNA. I can see it will make such a difference to you.
Good luck with asking Mrs PNA for the warehouse money. Stay strong. Don't give in.
I'm sure you can eat frugally for 2 weeks to prove your point and you'll find Mrs PNA will manage better next month from that experience.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Any more posts you want to make on something you obviously know very little about?"
Is an actual reaction to my posts, so please don't rely on anything I say.0 -
Just so you know, PNA, OH and I have £5.50 left for this month's food (because we got carried away earlier in the month). It's mildly annoying but it doesn't need to be a reason to abandon or change your budget. We've got food in the house, I imagine you have too.0

We should have enough in the cupboards to just about last the next 9 days. The only things lacking are fresh milk and bread.
I know I will be fed well the next five days as I'm staying with my mum and already emailed menu suggestions! All my favourite things I miss:)
My daughter only has a couple of weeks left with us now and to be fair she has been good as gold regarding cutting back. The petrol bill for the car has dropped considerably from £60 or £70 per week down to £12-£15.[STRIKE][/STRIKE]Outstanding debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£77,500[/STRIKE] Jan 12 [STRIKE]£65,800[/STRIKE] Jan 13 [STRIKE]£49,300[/STRIKE] July [STRIKE][/STRIKE]£42,000 August £40,720[STRIKE][/STRIKE]September £38,4000 -
I have read the last page and I have to say I've had a 7 year ongoing battle with my wife to stop spending without thinking and to take ownership of the money that she is spending.
I'm left 100% in control of the family budget, everything from income to outgoings, it is all my responsibility to manage.
My wife NEVER looks at the simple budget planner I have created and used for years and chooses to only look at the bank balance, which never reveals the true situation.
Now I don't know what clicked inside my wife but all of a sudden, she communicates with me and asks me how much we have to spend on food, fuel, etc etc.
I had a raring blaring go at her because the stress of dealing with it and her not listening to me made me ill.
I say I don't know....she did have to pay the credit card bill for me and I analyse every single transaction to allocate to the budget planner and because she wanted to check something on there I asked her to pay what she owes for clothing etc (as she gets a monthly allowance for clothing the kids - she does it better than me) and she rang me all stressed out because she couldn't understand why the figures weren't matching up. I told her that is has been like that for me for years, having to sit like that tearing my hair out, as keeping an eye on the money is important and I feel it is necessary for your own peace of mind.
I don't know what will work for you, but I once told my wife I was leaving her at one point and I went for 3 weeks because I didn't want to be with someone who didn't communicate with me or share the same ideals as me and I would be better off without (mentally that is).0
