    Good morning :D

This morning I have showered (then cleaned the shower/screen/tiles), cleared my chairdrobe  (it has been driving DH nuts for months/years!), straightened my hair, sorted out my 'jeans' shelf (I have a couple of pairs that no longer fit for CS, 1 pair that have never been worn - present from SIL & wrong 'fit' - that I may ebay (Next ones), and 2 new pairs that are too tight that I hope to slim into :o). At least I can fit the ones I wear regularly in there now instead of leaving them on the chair :)

I have also checked bank accounts/emails etc (TC have been credited so mortgage will be paid tomorrow!)

DH has been busy too. He has hoovered through downstairs & has is just starting to clean out the car. He has also applied for 42 jobs this morning!! He has applied for 100's this year so far, but has only had a handful of replies

I think I am going to throw some cleaning stuff down the toilet then tackle some more paperwork now.

    Hi all

I shall flippitty-flap as best I can again today – hope this meets with Valli's expectations. Oh bluddy 'ell, she's heading for Northampton:eek: – that's spitting distance from me! * LW wonders if she can somehow get the A5 closed *

Helen jelly did you warm your jam jars before filling them? This stops them cracking when hot jam meets glass.:o When we do jam, Mr LW turns the oven on just to 100C and puts the jars in there for a bit (remember to get them out with oven gloves though, and make a careful note of which lids belong to which jars).;)

Dusty: Ribbit. Ribbit. RIBBIT! RIBBIT!! <---paperwork calling you.:rotfl:

Poohbear (((HUGS))) Hope DGD is ok.:o

Mumto5 I've come across both Army and Colony as collective nouns for frogs.:o

Right, I'd better go and look at my Froggy-Doggy-Doodah List - the one I must eat today is to hand-wash my green dress (it runs better than Usain Bolt, and not cost effective to put it in the WM on it's own).:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

and I am going to be a tourist and visit places of interest - :D

I do exactly that with jam, Helen - I warm the lids, too though. You can allow it to cool a little before potting.

I am going to do some cleaning now - but I'm saving my bathroom until tomorrow :rotfl:

Haven't been on here since May, can't believe it's been so long. Still manically busy balancing out my terminal laziness, but I've missed you all. Haven't had time to catch up much on what you've all been up to, so hope it was mostly pleasant.

Well, I'm now officially freelance having left my job 11th July. Anyone else who's in education can imagine the state of my home office now, having cleared out 10yrs worth of books etc from college and brought them home in bags. Lots of bags. Lots and lots of bags, and I think they are breeding. So most of my list is 'empty another bag and file the contents in a logical order'. Huh.

In the meantime of course, the garden is manic. Have had the pond refurbished - think the women with waders were here when I last posted - and there is lots of re-planting to be done. Enjoyable but endless amounts of time. Ditto the new raised beds OH build for me opposite the pond alongside the shed. Fruit to be picked everywhere, weeds springing up everywhere.......don't think I will have time to get any freelance work!! Could upset the bank somewhat though.

Treated myself to a new tablet so still playing with it to find out how it all works.

OH birthday on Sat, so will need to make a cake as out for meal with friends, then cake for dessert.

On holiday 13th so lots to do/pack/organise there.

Oh well, sitting on here won't get it all done......but nice to be back with you all again.

Welcome back Narco - you sound like you need to invoke the spirit of AnWsMum and do some dot-to-dotting (tm)

I hereby give you permission to work in the garden when it's fine; and work in the house when it isn't!

inspired by the clear clutter from rooms that isnt meant to be there, ive gathered the cds that had been abandoned on the dvd racks in lounge and hall and the ones in the kitchen. have taken them all upstairs to the racks. Culled all the computer game demos and discs that no one ever plays into the charity box and started sorting the racks.
Did annoy myself by thinking why have i put those cds on a separate shelf and promptly gathered them up and sorted into artists with the others -it was only afterwards i remembered they are the EMPTY CASES from the ones i put into the car folder last month GRRR.
anyway cds are now all neat and tidy in 2 racks will be needing to ask DH why he needs 3 copies of brass knuckles and several doubles of other cds. can clear about 12 more cds out if they can be gifted to friends or put in the CS box. Will Smith, Scooter or Nelly anyone?:o
have just got to put quiz dvd games on the new shelf and then ill make another start on bathroom.

  • Good afternoon everyone, I was missing yesterday as things have started to happen with baby so may go missing later this week. I am going to do my list and delegate jobs to kids and DH whilst still doing some light jobs myself.

    Manic Monday - living room
    • Quick hoover round
    • Wipe switches, sockets and sticky door marks
    • Clean the windows
    • It's almost August so check your diary and see what birthday (etc) cards you might need for the month. Add them, and stamps if you need them, to your shopping list
    • Sort out cards for November and December - because trying to find birthday cards (etc) when the shops are chock full of Christmas cards is NOT easy! Add them to your list. Put them in a MEMORABLE place - because we don't want them lost when you need them!
    • And finally - don't forget your frog list - even if you only nibble on a frog make a start!

    Other jobs for Monday
    • Pay change into the bank
    • Pay cheque into bank
    • Do some English course work (2 hours)
    • Catch up with thread

    Everything's Tuesday - Kitchen

    Empty the bin
Open window to let in fresh air
Remove anything that belongs elsewhere to be rehomed
    Wipe over the worktops
    Quick hoover round
Wipe switches, sockets and sticky door marks
Wipe all the cupboard doors and drawers - don't forget the handles
Wipe the microwave outside - put half a lemon, or some lemon juice in water inside, let it run for two minutes then leave the steam to soften gunk, wipe it out
Make sure every horizontal surface has had a wipe
    Wipe the washer door seal
Make sure yout TD filter is lint-free
    Clean the windows
Start that CHRISTMAS shopping - list all the non-perishables you want to buy (eg cranberry jelly; cocktail cherries for the snowballs - I am channelling the 70s - check today's music!) and EITHER buy one item a week/fortnight OR have the list to hand ready for if you see a bargain!
Plan for a day off sometime during the school hols or one weekend - so; check your meal plan and find ONE dish you can double up on - so that you can make two and freeze one! Check you have enough ingredients - this NEED NOT be done today - make it fit with your meal plan! This will be the meal you DON'T cook on your day off!
And finally - don't forget your frog list - EAT A WHOLE FROG today!

    Wednesday Week - Bathroom

Open window to let in fresh air
Remove anything that belongs elsewhere to be rehomed
Flush the loo and scrub it
Wipe the outside of the loo with a cloth
    Clean the bath
Hot water and detergent and a wipe (not with the toilet cloth, please!) to shift shower screen soap scum
Run the curtain through the hottest wash it can stand and peg it on the line for a blow
    Clean the loo roll holder
Clean' hands when they're wrestling with the paper...
Wipe the shower rail; wash the shower curtain rings
Wipe or dust all high horizontal surfaces - door tops and screens
    clean the basin
    Clean the windows
    Mop the floor
Chrome shower rails can be polished when they're off
    Put out fluffy towels
If you leave creams, potions and lotions open to the air they WILL deteriorate much more quickly. Make sure all tops are screwed on after every use. Check the use withins - and chuck out those dust-gathering body scrubs etc that you don't use!
Add anything that's running out to the shopping list - don't forget the loo roll!

I have read a bit more of my book (The Ragged Trousered something-beginning-with-p) I'm finding it hard going tbh, probably because it's not a 'story' as such. (note to self - stop looking at progress status bar on kindle;))
I've got the same problem with my book (can't even remember the title) I'm on P67 of 275 and keep working out the fraction of how far through I am.

Thanks, it needs to shout louder as I[m going back out in a minute to get new tyres on the little car :rotfl:

Possible dress bought, paint got (returned two unused tester pots so a few £ off)

New chest of drawers from ebay is going to be too small or DS1 clothes so I need a rethink. DS3 can have that chest in his new room or I'll resell.

Need to put shopping away and WM on.

Thanks. Went into meltdown the week I left work; think the emotion, clutter and excitement/trepidation of new employment hit me. After a couple of days I headed a large sheet of paper 'NICE LIST' and have been steadily picking things off it. Only 2 or 3 items on it now, so I have taken a nice new sheet and headed it imaginatively 'NEW LIST'. Just writing the first one was enough to chill me out.

Have picked 4 punnets of blackcurrants today; gave 2 to the builders who have been replacing a walled flower bed as I already have 3 punnets in the fridge (freezer curiously full). I've been pruning as I go; it's easier to pick the little blighters off a branch held in your hand, and you can see what's left on the bush plus not have to come back later and prune.

    Think lunch next.
