Well P before you start nagging - job done!

Form filled out and I am off now to the post box.

My next job is to secure a back up charity place.

    I am getting excited now

I think that sums up how I feel really :D

My story then......we arrived in *won't mention the name incase I offend* and discovered that I had inadvertently booked us into a dump (aka ****hole :rotfl: ). After a few moments of contemplating quite how awful the B&B was, we decided it was a character building experience. We dubiously walked around the area, thus decided it was not safe and sought refuge in an italian restaurant. Had a gorgeous meal and then got ourselves in bed for 9pm. Please note I had to cover the pillow with my towel it was that undesirable

We were up and out by 8am, on the tram to the middle of Newcastle and absolutely overwhelmed with excitement. A few toilet stops, lots of feeling nervously sick and then we were at the stop. As soon as we started running we said we were going to do a 10 min mile to make sure we could do it all running and not wear ourselves out. The people were so supportive, runners and spectators....I had ice pops, chocolate digestives, vaseline for my nips :rotfl:

Think my hill training paid off as we found it really good, didn't struggle and maintained our pace. The only problem was the crowd of runners and that we all started to bottleneck and struggle towards the end to keep up the pace.

The end was fantastic, the support was amazing but the last 800 yards was more like 2 miles. As soon as I got over the line I burst into tears  and the red arrows were starting their show. Really really really proud moment!!! Think my time was between 2hrs 11 and 2hrs 16 we can't remember the clock when we set off!

So yes absolutely definately want to do it next year and am going to book accomodation now in a far more desirable b&b:rolleyes:

I have applied for the marathon but I might start looking at charity places as well as I would love to do that.

Now off to bed as I am absolutely knackered but it was all worth it. YAY!!!!

I know that when I did it I was doing 11 mins a mile until I stopped at one of the portaloos at about 6 miles. After that I managed 8 and a half mins per mile :o Talk about a weight off your mind!
Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!

I stopped at the 3 mile toilets and frustratingly had to queue but felt very relieved afterwards :D not quite 8.5 mins relieved though

Well done to everyone who did the GNR. I finished it in 2hrs 31secs. I was a bit gutted to miss the 2hr mark but it beat last years time of 2hrs 5mins.
Had to stop for a toilet break which cost me a couple of minutes.
