Hardly, since I posted the same thing!:p

And like you say, at least 7 times before!

welcome back becky! I'm not going out either tonight - but I promise to do a long run tomorrow when the children are skiing.......come what may!

    15 weeks.

I saw on the runners world website that they have running guides on the day - so I can find the 4 hours 30 group and as long as I stick with them I can get round in my required time without worrying too much about going off too fast etc.

Seems like a good idea to me - has anyone ever used one of the RW pacing groups?

Thats cool Hypno - no never used the running guides but I do poke into the 3.30 thread on their forums sometimes :D

The only thing I'd say is - 4.30 can be done lots of different ways and if you're running with others they might be too slow at the start and too fast at the end for you for example...

What I did was pulled off split times for 3.30 for lasts years FLM and looked at the variations and picked one that matched my current running style best and now I aim for those targets - the one I'm looking at currently is 48 mins to 10k as part of a 13 miler.

    Hope that helps!

I agree that, except at the very pointy end, pace setters are not particularly helpful.

You're putting all your hard work into the hands of someone else who you know nothing about - they may drift up and down by 20-30 secs per mile at the wrong times for how you're feeling at that point in the race. If you stick with that group you will more than likely end up running too hard at some stages than you need to, meaning that the dreaded 'Wall' arrives earlier in the race.

I hope we're not the same person, because that would mean running the Blackpool marathon on 5th April and the FLM on 26th April - I don't like that idea!:p :p
