*Love* those runs where everything just seems to click and you just going flying off, thinking "where the fork did that come from?" - nothing beats them endorphins
Thanks Idio!!
Yep, that's were the 'amazing' feeling came from - the fact that there was no effort or intention involved, and that it would have been more effort to go slower.
I wish you could bottle that feeling!!!:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Just a quick note in the spirit of MSE - amazon have some pretty good deals on Garmins at the mo - most noteably, I reckon, the garmin 50 + footpod for something like £39.
The forerunners seems good prices too, if not breathtaking...My mum seemed to reckon they were cheaper than they are now, so they may have been cheaper earlier in the day, hence top of the bestsellers..0 -
Morning All,
Wow well done on your running Rich and Alias...I have to agree with Rich - I was running 2.8 miles twice and day but really struggled to run 10k, so Rich suggested changing to 4 miles 3 times a week and weirdly 10k became no problem at all...
Um anyway I woke up this morning absolutely shattered so since I have a rest day tomorrow I've decided to do my 10k then (cant do tonight as have another works things to go to)...
Happy running everyone0 -

Hehe That makes me feel better, Becky!

Even worse mines not hangover induced or late night stoppage outage - just very very tired from too many weeks of skitting around the country and a full on running program for a beginner like me...so going to run tomorrow and Sunday and still get a full week in but have a very quiet weekend otherwise and hopefully fix the problem0

Morning all.
I did my first 10k yesterday in a time of 64.50, with no stopping which i was truely amazed at. But my hips are giving a lot of stick today.
Thats my first run due to the problems with my teeth at the end of last week.
Your all doing so well.
Rich - i will try and dot the 4miles instead of 3 and see how i go.Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0 -

Ideal, if i could knock out 8k by new year in some form of continous jogging, then maybe with the motivation of some old guy catching me up might just spur me on for the final 2k, therefore giving me that goal.
The aim i think, is the lincoln 10k, a kinda suprise as im the fat kid that cant make the 25m beep test in the RAF.
Ive been attending circuits for the past 6 months, alot of press-ups and sit-ups but not alot of running. As you can tell, i can knock out about 48 press-ups or so, but running is flat.
Mainly as legs are cold in gym, and lack of motivation / shortness of breath means i fall short at level 9.3 instead of level 9.10; the aim is to get above that by the next time i take it, and get to level 12 or something..
To then watch everyones eyes as the fat lad who cant pass it just beat everyone by 2 levels (20 shuttles), or thats how it goes in my dream..
If your lucky, i might show you a picture of what i look like...
Good night all.. time for bed..
Alias
how you doing on the bleep test, im in the same boat as you. i just cannot get enough speed to pass the blasted bleep test, i can pass the pressups and situps without a problem.Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0 -
Hey JJ - wow thats a great time for a first 10K!!
You must be sooo pleased0 -
I am i felt as though i was going to stop a few times during the run , but i just wanted to do it in one go so i could judge if i could actually run for the full hour, im so happy just stiff in the hips today.
I was hoping to get it under the hour as id done 5k in under 30 mins before but i just got into a comfortable pace and went for it.Running Club5KM - 25:20(51.21%) 10KM - 53:40(50.26%)1/2 Marathon - 2.14.57(44.20%)Marathon 5:11:00 (40.78%)0 -

jj - I'm seriously impressed!!:D
My first continuous 10K was 75 minutes about 9 weeks ago. This was after a 2 year lay off but I have run for years, so to do that on your first continuous 10K really is quite something!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
