Apart from you who's coming home at it...0

Alias - you are officially mad
- You get up earlier than me !!!
Morning All!
Did my 10k hill run this morning and got a time of 52.21 which considering it took me 60 mins last week isnt bad at all - I can feel a sub 50 for that run coming on - which I dont think I've ever done...
I suspect I wont be getting any fast ones in tomorrow though since this avo is my works xmas party which involves a free bar after lunch hmmmmm can I be good I wonder...or will I be coming home around 5 al la coachie??
Happy running everyone!
Nice one Becky - your calf muscles and thighs mut be getting significantly stronger now with the variety of work, which is translating into being able to handle the inclines better. Plus your lungs will be better able to cope due to the intervals.
Hmmmm, watch out because these free bars are dangerous territory. If you get home at 5 you can just get changed straight away and go for your run - quite efficient way of doing things really!! (And those pink animals with squiggly tails might fly as well)

Thanks Hypno - we had one in the summer too and ended up in Sloane Square on the cocktails but I reckon we'll finish quite early so I should be okay for a run just a nice slow one
Free parties are very MSE though - I like it0 -
Thanks Rich - I'm enjoying the hills more and more every week but I need some really big ones - cant wait to be back in Bristol over xmas for some 300ft inclines
Right better go find something to wear to this posh lunch hmmmm0 -

Not everyone, I assure you
Anyway, I'm gonna try my first timed 10k in a couple of weeks today - see how far off the pace I am0 -
Ooh, that reminds me - better put the garmin onto charge0

Well, the run ended up good, but frustrating, in summary. Made sure to push the tempo, but didn't find it too hard, tbh until I started feeling *really* sick towards the end, so had to stop...painfully close to the end.
Result; 6.05miles, 44:30
Stopped to give someone directions, too, so that was probably worth about 30 seconds.
So irritating, a new personal best (currently 47:13) in touching distance, but it didn't seem worth being sick just to sprint for the line.
The main thing is, I don't seem to have fallen *horribly* off the pace through my couple of weeks' laziness...so gotta take some positives.0 -
Def not worth being sick for.......and it gives you something to aim for next time round.
Well done for obviously improving though! And I hope you don't feel ill this afternoon.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Well done Idio - thats worth about 46 mins or so, there's no way 44:30 for 6.05 wouldn't have been under 47:13 for 10K (it would take 15 minute miling). So, once again it proves that you just can't lose fitness as quickly as most people seem to think.
As that is suspiciously close to my 45:57 I could get the feeling that my time is being hunted down!
Must stop all this drinking and late night stuff to get some running done again!:o
But great effort and I can fully understand what you mean about the sickness thing at the end I had the very same thing on Tuesday for my 10K - I always know I've worked hard enough if I get to that stage, so its obviously rare for me to experience it!!!:pGt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

If you think about it, assuming a generous 7 minute mile for the last .15, it would take a fraction over a minute to finish of the distance - so around 45:35, maybe - knock off the 30 seconds for that idiot distracting me (he almost grabbed me to get his directions) ::rolleyes: and I reckon I've got best part of a minute on you
Found the sickness thing quite weird...I didn't feel like I'd pushed that hard, overall. In fact, as I turned the corner at 5 miles I though "wow, this is easy!" - then it snuck up on me real quick in the last half mile. Guess I must've been working harder than I thought. Which is interesting. Think it may be down to my breathing, I've got it pretty sussed through the long runs now, so never really breathe that hard on shorter runs...so I guess it's hard to know when I'm pushing my muscles...or something. Or maybe I should just have been breathing harder0
