    Hello everybody

Ive been away a long time but now back into my running for about 5 weeks, after the ankle op, lots of new faces on here and Ill catch up on all the posts later. Im back up to 20 miles a week with a long one at 9 miles at the mo, this weekend is the 10 miler. Got into London again so build up begins in January, I want to be at 13 by first week in January which I think I will

    Happy running everybody

Hey SW lovely to see you back. You and Chris were my inspiration when I joined back in March this year. Im also doing the LM next year and have to say when I hear that you are hoping to be at 13 miles by January it makes me :D . I never thought I might be on schedule to actually complete the LM and having done 14 miles last weekend with no aches and pains after I feel great! Don't be a stranger on here and keep us posted with your training too.

A TV show that may interest you....... I was emailed details of this and I WILL be watching for some inspiration!! If you thought training for a 10k was tough, spare a thought for the men and women who've just completed an ultra-race called jungle marathon.

Imagine going twenty times our distance, but right through the middle of the Brazilian Jungle, through dense vegetation and swamps, across Amazonian tributaries - with jaguars, snakes, spiders, piranhas etc as running mates.
The show is made by a friend of ours, Dave Harrison who, with ITV Yorkshire, covered Jane's fundraising efforts from the London Marathon in 2002 up until Jane's ride across America in 2006. He would say that he has a passion for making inspirational TV about ordinary people doing extraordinary things. But after many weeks on the road with us, we think he specialises in following nutters doing crazy events. As with all Jane's efforts, the language through the darkest moments is quite expressive!

Jungle Marathon is on ITV4 Thursday 4th December at 10pm. TONIGHT

Hey SW - great name by the way - thats the start of my postcode :D

wow you're already at such a high standard...

Do you have a target for LM or is it a secret??

Oh idio it could be worse - my friends crazy pb is 41 mins!!!!! How is that even possible??

Rich your marathon is before ours so I like to hope your progress is tracked about 3 weeks before mine (taking the time difference in target times into consideration of course) :D - it keeps me motivated when I'm having a slow progress week!

    Morning All,

Did an easy four this morning at my marathon pace (8 mins a mile) so took me 32 mins, its felt like hard work on the muscles though - which I suspect is because they never really warmed up and the thighs were still a bit stiff...

    But pulse around 100 anyway.

Had some great news - my very first race may be in New York!!! :D My friend who I'm staying with is going to register us both for a 5 or 10K!!! Exciting :D

    Happy running everyone!
  • Morning All, youve all had great runs this week, im so jealous. Iv not been able to get out since wednesday due to me having really bad tooth ache, think iv chipped a filling, and with all the pain killers iv been taking i wasnt going to risk going for a run and over doing it due to not being able to feel the muscles hurting. Im going to get it sorted at 10am today so hopefully ill be back out in a few days.

becky - how exciting to do something in NY!!! WOOOOOO!!!

jj, toothache is miserable - I hope you get it sorted today and can get back to your running!

No running for me today - staff Christmas party this evening.......I did wake up before my alarm went off, at 5.45 and briefly thought "I could go for a run" but then thought better of it, went back to sleep and waited for the alarm to go off half an hour later........:o

Am planning a 10 miler at the weekend, then hopefully can get back into the routine from there.......London is getting ever closer!

Ooo sory about your tooth ache JJ - ouchie!!!!! Hope it doesnt cost too much to fix :D

Have fun at your party Hypno - mines next week but luckily we get the afternoon off so wont affect running (unless I'm too hung over to go out on Friday :D).

I'm excited about my trip to NY anyway but a race included would be even better - I'm hoping to whoop my NY buddy and show him how its done :D - nah not really, but it will be a great marker since he ran 4.16 in the NY marathon in November...

I am sure you will whoop your buddy, becky!! Lull him into a false sense of security - say that 9 min miling is about right for you.......then go show him what you are really made of, and leave him standing!!!
