Hi All,
Thanks for being chuffed on my behalf - not quite a 10k though - exactly 6 miles so that puts it at 7.30 minute miles which is much more like it
I was pushing very hard though and I think the two rest days definitely helped
I'm going slowly tomorrow thought0 -
I'm tired and achy, still, so having another night off. I will head out tomorrow though. I had planned on going out tonight but had a change of heart this afternoon when I realised just how tired I am.
I have some "mummy taxi" duties to do this evening, and some jobs around the house, so will do that instead and run when they are at karate tomorrow evening when it is easier to fit in (and I am more inclined!).Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Enjoy your rest day Hypno.
OK so new training plan said to do speed work tonight so here is what I've done so far/to do this week:
Monday - 4 miles steady pace - done
Tuesday - 1/2 mile warm-up, 5 x 200m sprints / 200m jog recovery, 1/2 warm down home - done
Wednesday - Hill work 4/5 reps
Thursday - Slow 3 miles
Friday - Rest
Saturday - Rest or slow 3 miles depending on how my legs are!
Sunday - 4 1/2 miles, steady pace.
Hubbie is away again for 2 nights next week so will fit runs/rest days around that.

Hi all, some fantastic early-morning running going on here. Becky, you are officially superwoman! Awesome time! I would be so thrilled to be able to do that (at any time of the day or night).
Anyway, no interval session last night due to sports arena being closed due to adverse weather conditions. Not sure if track was closed actually, but with no football training for DS, I wasn't going to drive there just to run round and round. Instead I did my 4.25 mile route at a nice easy pace. It was strange though, I did the same loop but in the opposite direction. I could almost have been on another planet! Everything looked so strange running the 'wrong way'.
Great to hear everyone else's progress and plans too. Sally, have the achey legs kicked in yet? I usually get them two days after a long run. Well done on your 14 miles. Evab - looks like a good training plan. It will make your training much more focused I'm sure and you will be doing that 4 miles easily in no time (and I'm sure you weren't *pants*!)
A busy week this week. Curry club tomorrow, evening meeting Thursday and Christmas Do Friday. I will try to get a run in tomorrow morning, as long as there isn't too much snow & ice around.Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90

Underfoot conditions were very icy again this morning, probably best described as 'crunchy', but I decided to have a crack at the interval session anyway.
It was harder work as a result and there is definitely going to be some thigh ache due to the lack of traction. But overall still a good session - the fastest intervals so far and at 6:30 am I can't complain at that sort of outcome!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Wow well done Rich!
Nice training plan Evab - looks there looks to be plenty of variety to keep you busy
I did my easy 4.5 this morning in 38 mins on a 94 or so pulse - very gentle after yesterdays efforts.
Happy running everyone!0 -
Well done becky! I wimped out yesterday on the basis that I was tired and still ached from the weekend.
My aches have all but disappeared now, so I will be going for a shortish run when the children are at karate......nothing too strenous, but snow is forecast for tomorrow so if I don't go tonight, it might be the weekend before I get out (I don't mind running in the snow as such, I just don't like the "sliding effect"!).

Whoa, were you riding a bike, or what?
That's seriously brisk - and a good time for 4.5 too, becky, especially a "very gentle" one0 -
Becky, I reckon that this evening I combined my running with your ice-skating
I only did 2.6 miles, but it was under 10:30 a mile pace so I am getting a little quicker. It was very slippery though, and I was very aware of it as I was running - it was "new frost" so quite wet and slippery rather than hard and crunchy.
Snow is forecast overnight and tomorrow but hopefully it won't be too bad and I can get out again tomorrow or Friday. I want to build on my half marathon now, and get some good quality work in, but the weather and my current manic life are not helping this happen!
Hopefully next week will be a little less chaotic in this household and I can start looking at my marathon training schedule properly.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
