Morning All!
Sorry to hear about the icy conditions Hypno - but good news on the pace increase at least
Today was my 6.7 mile hill run - and it was one of those - well I got through it runs...
60 mins, but pulse 90 or so - in heavy rain, head wind and with a stomach ache so not really the hard session it was supposed to be - I would have canceled it but I was already out when it starting raining heavily and running got me back to my warm house quicker
Ah well I hope everyone else has better runs today...and wow is freezing out there so be careful0 -
becky, you say it wasn't the hard session it was supposed to be, but it sounds hard enough to me!! Well done for getting out there in adverse weather with stomach ache too!!!
I am working all day, and this evening too, so no chance for me to run (and no I can't DO morning runs!) and tomorrow is my Staff party after work so no time then.......
perhaps I ought to set my alarm early tomorrow morning and go round the block......or perhaps I might just stay under my duvet for a while longer!
Be careful everyone today - very slippery conditions forecast!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Week14
Mon1/12 Rest Day
Tues2/12 10K 51:20 (Pulse 118)
Weds3/12 3 x 1 mile 6:34, 6:39, 6:34 (Pulse 142) (Average 6:36)
Thurs4/12 10K 48:23 (Pulse 128)
It snowed all night, and is still snowing, but there isn't even a hint of white on the ground!
So no problems as far as running was concerned. Although it was a steady run today I pushed a little harder than normal to take advantage of the flat conditions which I don't get access to very often. Since there is another steady run tomorrow it felt worth a bit more effort.
So the fastest 10K so far at 48:23, a time that will no doubt look very familiar to Beer Tins!
Becky, as you know you'll get days like this every now and again. It sounds like you've brushed it aside easily enough! You know you'll have great runs just around the corner.
Hypno, there are very few days each year where the weather genuinely prevents runs getting done so when it does happen its not worth worrying about. The risk of injury is so much higher in slippy conditions so calling it a day at 2.6 seems like a wise decision.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
