Yes I know there is a long time until FLM but I am just aware that I never seem to get a full weeks worth of training down to various reasons and I worry that as time goes by this will really effect my chances of actually getting around. Will just keep plodding away, no chance I will ever keep up with all your fast peeps.
Can I ask a question Rich, in the training plan when it says time trial, am I supposed to run these at race pace and see what I can pull out the bag or just run at easy pace but keeping a record of the time??
Chris lovely to see you back, have missed your imputI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Sally, please try not to worry too much. You are running every week, even if you miss a session or two. If you get enough long runs in you will "get around". If you're worried about it, I'm sure Rich can adjust your plan with the aim to get around, using what time you have*. If it comes down to it, you can strip out most of the speed work if it's absolutely necessary and still do enough to finish the race.
It's good that you have respect for the distance, I'm confident that alone means you will do enough to be prepared. Go Sally! You can do it!
I just got back from my work's 5-a-side and it was knackering! It was only 20 minutes, but it was on a 6-a-side pitch (pretty big). So loads of speed work there, though more like 200m pace than 1500m pace! I was judged too fit to be allowed to benefit from a substitution, other's needs were greater than mine! They asked me to come back regularly, so I think I did OK. That's my Friday lunchtimes booked up then!

Sounds like fun!!
So is Rich the thread's official schedule-maker then!? Are you a PT or something? Or just a fountain of knowledge0 -

Rich is the unoffocial coach of the threadhe did almost everyones training plans for FLM I think...usually he'll need to know your goal and date of it, times a week you want to train and how much you're doing already and then you're away
Although, I'm still waiting on my plan from after London to get me at 3.15 for Venice
How did your run go FMOW??0 -

He's a very experienced amateur runner and has a wealth of knowledge, which we exploit at our leisure. Ask him what his record times are (from years ago), but make sure you are sitting down when you hear the reply :eek:Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
10k....47:13....can't breathe....dead now.
something like 2:16 off PB, anyway...and might keep rich at bay for today at least (while he's resting)0 -

That is 50 minute 10K pace maintained for 4.5 miles on a very low pulse. Idio and Beer Tins are going to be quaking in their running shoes now that you and Chickadee are getting into that territory as well.:p:p
8min/miles...no problems...walk in the park...piece of cake...
*quakes*0 -
Yeah but Idio - your just completed PB on 10K is 10 minutes faster than mine!
You can stop quaking now...0 -

Gah! Curse you idio! You've just gone past my PB! Good effort! Oh dear, I knew this day would come. I never thought I'd get competitive with idio, but will I be out on the roads every morning now?! And is it wise for me to get competitive with a fresh faced youngster like him, anyway?
The answer is no, BTW. I only get competitive with myself when it comes to running!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0
