    Thanks Rich/Maz,

I dont like doing loops particularly either. Just not many places to run where its lit up. I did run 2 weeks ago in the dark and hit a point where there were trees overhead and no cars passing at that time and someone had left a 2 foot pole in the ground which I hit. Funny but painful too!

Lots of walking as per your training plan Rich. Its 1.4 miles to work and been doing that in the morning, back home and back at lunchtime and sometimes on the way home in the evening (sometimes have a lift from GF depending on weather) and its made a big difference.

Did the 3rd lap in the quickest time and felt like I could have done another so really pleased with myself on that.

you might have seen that there are a few of us signing up for the Leeds Runforall on 21st June next year, Sal, Sammy, Bunny, Snaggles, Squizzer and Me, with others to confirm nearer the time.... we plan on having a sort of running thread meet, with others coming along to support us on the day from the daily chat thread and other rowdy places! Will you be joining us?? Have you told Mrs Beertins about your new friends yet?!!

Haha, yes Mrs Beertins knows about my virtual friends. What distance is the Leeds Runforall? I may be tempted, but it's Mrs. Beertins birthday on the 16th June, so she may be celebrating then. It could be the weekend before, but isn't it bad luck to celebrate a birthday early? Either way, I think I'll need to confirm nearer the time as well. Is it in danger of getting oversubscribed?

Bunny - the insoles are like the ones that are in my trainers, which are currently in your porch/entrance hall thingy, lol.

I have other trainers luckily, but they don't have bouncy insoles. :j <---that's me with bouncy insoles btw, lol

Beertins - South london is much nicer than Surrey anyway! I found it slippy this morning as well - lots of hidden puddles as well! Well done on the run though :)

Well South London spanks North London's botty when it comes to the amount of parks and green spaces. Even the streets seem to have more trees. Not sure if it's "nicer than Surrey", it really depends on where exactly you're comparing. Dulwich is much nicer than Woking, for example!

I hate running loops of anything at all, i always get bummed when i have to run the same point twice, especially in a race environment (cause y'know i am such a highly trained athlete and have done 3RFL's and 10k in my 4 years as a not very runner!!) Y'know when you pass the finish but it's not the end, that just crucifies me psychologically....
It's funny you should say that - I am exactly the opposite, I love running round the same bit over and over......I have no idea why! :rotfl:

Actually, I think I do! I have no natural sense of direction, and if I had to follow a proper route, goodness knows where I would end up. I drove from Shropshire to Leeds the other day and almost ended up in Crewe when a particular song came on the radio and I got distracted by memories.....!! :o

Oi I live in North London! Well central I suppose, but its 'north of the river' so its north! I have Hyde park, St Jame's, Green Park, and Regents on my doorstep so I'm okay for parks!

I've only been to Surrey once - its weird! Like all suburbs no actual countryside - but that was by Ascot and Winsdor so I dont know what the rest of it looks like...

Richmond must be good for running though - I've been meaning to go out there for a while :)

but you are slightly bonkers that's why!

You'd make an excellent hamster! round n round n round n round
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

When I used to live 1 mile from Windsor it was in Royal Berkshire, as was Ascot - have they moved it?:p;)

No, you are very much "central" London! Besides, I only meant in terms of park land. Outside of central London, North London only really has Hampsted Heath (admittedly excelent).

I've never run in Richmond park, but it's larger than the parks you mentioned combined and I imagine it would be fantastic for a nice long run. You could even pop over the A3 to Wimbledon Common to see if you can spot a Womble. Surrey is very suburban, but you do get proper "countryside" Surrey when you go out even further to places like Haselmere.
