I finally got my fat !!! into gear this morning and did my first run since Thursday  Very slow 6am run whilst talking the whole way with friend, we also found a house she wanted to buy on the way, back to hers for a brew and then panic stations when I was sat leisurely at my friends house brew in hand and realised it was 7.10am and I had to get home, shower, dressed, fed etc etc and on train by 8am

But....at least I have done it and I am at pilates tonight as well :D

Have also avoided the big bad chocolate for 2 days - :j

(P - can you check your pm as well - need a word - again!)

Yeah.. ta for putting up with my rambling. :o I've had two of those giant danish pastries this afternoon (detox, what detox?) so I think I'd better try and have a run tonight

Hello everyone, can I rejoin this thread?

I joined my local running club today. I stressed I was a beginner so they put me in a group with several other middle aged ladies and a kindly trainer who has put us on a 12 week schedule leading up to running 3 miles 12 weeks from now.

It was easy stuff, alternating 2 mins walking and 2 mins running etc, I found myself at first wanting to leave the dummies group and go and do proper running with the other superfit adults. Then I decided to chill. If I can get to run 3 miles this way that's good enough for me. Also being the best of a bad group appeals to my vanity more than being the worst of a good group!

So I'm quite chuffed and my DDs have promised to come out running with me in the evenings.

There is a big downside though. I bought trainers for myself and my DD3 - total spend £79.98 :eek::eek: I have persuaded myself that it's not money wasted but an investment in getting fit etc etc. All the same, it's a hell of a lot of money that I don't have.

Anyway, I look forward to [STRIKE]wasting[/STRIKE] enjoying many more hours on this thread reading of all your impressive exploits and boating of my own teeny successes.

    Hi pania et al.

Not posted for ages, but I haven't been idle! Three dance classes a week and daily long walks. Raring to go back to the gym next month!

    As you were... :)
 What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?

Seaxwyn - welcome back. We look forward to hearing your progress over the coming weeks. Your commitment will be rewarded.

Minnie - You sound as if you have been busy well done

pania - Glad to hear you are feeling better. Take it a little easier for a week or so - give your body a chance to properly recover.

Me? Been on a club run tonight - a demanding hilly 8 miles in Trent Park for anyone who knows that part of North London. I am tired but it was really good.
