I was lucky, I guy I work with who also trained me for the first half marathon is the secretry there. I was a bit apprehensive about joining, re fitness levels and all that but it si great. They split you into the group that you feel comfortable with. I started in the slowest group and worked my way up, Im about half way now, the slow group run about 3-4 miles in 45-55minues, so 10-12 mins mileing. The fastest group run about 7m miles, scary, we do about 8.30 - 8.45m mileing, sometime slower sometimes faster.22/07/07 Debt - Tesco 17644 (6.1%) - Now 10500

Morning all... how's it going? Hope you're feeling better today P. No running for me this morning as I had to be in work early but going out tonight before I get stuck into Massive Tidying Of Flat Part II - The Overflowing Wardrobe.
Still feeling strangely energetic, that's three days in a row now, I think someone's put something in me tea:j

ooooh wish someone would put something in my tea squirrel!! if you find out what it is let me know!!
Feel as cr*p today but not as bunged up, just lethargic and yukky really. I have an overflowing wardrobe to, do you hire yourself out? he he.
FMOW good for you on the run and cool to see you posting. I know lots of people that were terrified of joining running clubs but apparently everyone is really friendly. Google your local area with running club after it ie "norwich running club" and it should come back with a hit. Drag a friend along with you first time out and see how they are. Go for it!!debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -
hi all, just a little note to say well done everyone and I will hopefully be out in a couple of days. Back feeling better but still achy so don't want to risk going out too soon. Am getting cabin fever though, want to feel the wind and rain (no bl**dy hope of sunshine!!!)

Morning - squeezing a quick post in as I have sooooo much work to do!! Had a rest on Weds as I didn't enjoy Tues morning at all, so went mid afternoon with friend yesterday. It was raining (again) and we both felt heavy and sluggy still so we went off track and took to the hills and just ran (and walked up very big hills  ) and ended up having a good laugh. The first 10 mins were really hard and uncomfortable and the last 20 were brilliant - jumping over puddles, rocks - ended up having loads of fun. We were out about 50 mins, no idea how far we went just went with the flow
Will do a short one tonight or tomorrow morning and then a 5k race for life on Sunday.
Back to work now0 -
Good luck BA
It always takes me at least 2 miles to get into my runs.
Doing 5 tonight and 10 on Sunday 0730hrs, what a muppett I am!!!!!!22/07/07 Debt - Tesco 17644 (6.1%) - Now 10500

P - I actually don't mind cleaning once I get into it, very therapeutic.. so if the pay's good...
I haven't pinned down the secret to the extra energy yet - if it's the detox diet then I've messed that up as I've just eaten a great big danish pastry
Evab - glad to hear the back's getting better, take it easy until you're ready.
BA - the hilly puddly running sounds funGood luck for Sunday!
SW - not a muppet, just scarily fitter than me :rotfl:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
danish pastry!!! Fantastic!!! any going spare? actually have misbehaved and had sweets today already so bin that idea.
Evab, good to hear you're feeling better, just take it easy!!!
BA, any more sheep or calves lately? your runs sound really good fun. Whens the fell race?
SW not a muppet at all, stop doing yourself down, you should pride yourself on what you acheive.
Feeling bit better today, not as congested or weak as yesterday but not on top of the world either, so another few days off for me i think.
Have a great evening tonight whatever you get up to. for me it will be sofa, home cooked chinese (cheaper than takeaway) and work work work as i'm sooooooooo behind!!!
Hugs to all
P

All gone I'm afraid P.. they really were huge, I saw one of my workmates with them and thought he was eating a small pizza!
Saw your good news on your diary, hope you're having a lovely night with a big smile on your face
Did 3 miles tonight, struggled a bit against the wind but enjoyed it. Home to nice healthy fish and veggies. Treated myself to some Boots foot stuff today as they're suffering a bit from the combination of pounding along in trainers and spending the rest of the time in high heels... got the mini sizes of their overnight moisturiser and daily one, on buy one get second half price so only cost me just over £2 and there's quite a decent amount in them. Smell all lovely and vanilla-y as well... rather pleasant after a couple of nights of the gooey patches
Off to chill out with a book now... have a good night all xDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Hi everyone
Had a very busy week at work so not been on here.
Currently have free broadband because my current provider couldnt give me a MAC code so I cancelled it and it hasnt gone off yet - 1 week later :T I'm going to sign up for Sky broadband which is £10 a month cheaper
My rescheduled race for life had been postponed again and I can't do the new date so I'm a bit disappointed. Will have to keep jogging and do one next year. All the people that have sponsored me have said to send the money in anyway so thats really good
Ive done loads of exercise this week. Does walking count?
Here goes:
Monday 2 x 1 hour walks
Tuesday 2 x 1 hour walks and 2 mile run
Wednesday - nothing!
Thursday 3 x 1 hour walks and 1 hour dancing
Friday 3 x 1 hour walks
Saturday 1 x 1/2 hour walk and 2 mile run (and 1 hour cutting very soggy grass! - does that count?)
so thats 14 sessions if walking is counted. PS really have done that much walking - its part of my job :cool:Debt at lightbulb moment (Dec 06) £60,502
