Well people of my running club... we'll always be a club to me, whether we're official or not, i am back to jogscotland tonight. This will be week 1 of the 10 weeks to get to 10k programme!!! (assuming you can run 5k with no stops, which given how little training i've done lately, due to illness, is going to be a challenge!!)

    Wish me luck!!

Runchum has already called off, or probably isn't going to make it, but i am carrying on regardless... those more observent will notice that runclub is normally on a wednesday for me, and today is only monday! I have decided to bite the bullet and attend the club 2 days a week in a bid to see more improvements! So big g is on making tea and taking Erin to Brownies duty this week, so i can attend....

Swimming before work will also recommence this week, i'm thinking tuesday or thursday... might opt for thursday as will run mon/wed so swim thursday would be good muscle strengther after 2 runs.... will also do a weekend run on my own and wee fun mum swim with erin....

On the weight loss front, i have lost a further 2lbs this week... not bad considering i haven't done much proper exercise, only a couple of recreational swims and a dog walk or two.... this loss is due to the removal of contraceptive implant, and at the risk of TMI - this is not to have babies or anything, hell no!!, but just to give my body a rest as i was sure it was affecting my ability to lose weight given how much exercise i was doing.... i seem to be proving my theory right as well, which is gratifying... hope to continue that downward trend now exercise levels are back on track....

Still slightly deaf due to cold of last 2 weeks, but overall improved enough to have an easy run tonight.... will tell jog leader if chest hurts and fully intend to walk, this is exercise for legs tonight, not meant to workout lungs to hard......

sorry for long post - getting myself back on track and want to note it for my records more than anything!

Fantastic Maz! You sound really motivated and that is brilliant. I'm glad your runchum crying off hasn't stopped you from going to your running club. Well done!

You feeling better? altho sounds like you did well to manage 5 miles at the weekend, if you were feeling rotten after 1 mile... you're such a trouper!

shame you missed your half mara though...

Thanks, yes I'm feeling great today and like you, keen to get back on the wagon, so to speak. I'll be down at the track tonight doing my intervals. I think, like other have commented, it was just down to being tired. :o I'll take that on board and make sure I balance my life a bit better as things sort of got out of hand last week (not with the running, just the rest of it).

Life can be like that can't it!!

I'm still amazed that i am getting out to runclub tonight and Big G is doing the dinner and brownies run... just shows that if you ask, you sometimes get... it's not neccesarily always a womans job, but if we take it on, we will be left to it....

Must admit I almost choked on my muesli when I saw this. Is that 9st 3 1/2 lb? Are you only 4ft tall or something? Surely not a cause for Overweight Marathon Mummy status? I would have thought many of us would be thrilled to weigh that much.

Chick I am just 5ft so actually that puts me overweight. I should be between about 7.5 - 9. I would like to be a healthy 8 st

Sally, I'm only 5'2, and I was skinny at 9st, so I really am pretty sure you're not overweight.

Snaggles those 2 inches make all the difference ;) If I was 5.2 I could be up to 9.7 ish and be a healthy weight but I am actually overweight at just 5ft. I know not massively but enough for it to make me feel mahh and with family history I can't afford to get any bigger

Fair enough. It IS amazing the difference a couple of inches makes. I'm 5ft 6in so for me anywhere between 9 and 10.5 st is OK. Running (when your knee feels ok) is ideal and in my opinion an increase in activity is a far better way to shift excess pounds than dieting. Good luck and hope the knee is soon better.
