Welcome Bunny and Derby. You'll get lots of useful advice and encouragement here so you defo in the right place :T
No run today I'm afraid. My left knee started playing up and, to be honest, I wasn't really up for running this weekend so I decided to clean my flat instead. It's amazing what you miss when you 'sweep' with a glance rather than the vac/flick with the duster
Will start again tomorrow as I know I only have 3 training weeks here plus the final one in Jamaica so no more time off
Hopefully others did better than I. If I feel myself flagging during the next couple of weeks (hopefully not  ), I promise to report so someone can give me [STRIKE]a swift kicking[/STRIKE] words of encouragement:D
Have an enjoyable Sunday evening :beer:The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420 -
Bunny and Snaggles - come on!! We are dying to know how you got on this morning!
I am well chuffed with myself because I did an early run (well, 9am which is early for me, as I am an evening runner normally!) and did 7.75 miles in 1 hour 25 mins without stopping :j
That works out at a shade under my "standard" 11 min miles, and considering it was very blustery which I found quite hard to contend with at times, I am very pleased to have done that distance
Sallyx you have not been lazy - a power walk is just as good as a run! And you know you have to look after your knee.
Poorbabe, I hope your knee is better soon - don't rush the recovery, otherwise when you get to Jamaica you might discover you had done too much too soon, and that just wouldn't do!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Well done Hypno - an impressive run in itself, but so early on a Sunday morning must make you feel very satisfied with your effort.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

A very solid week of progress - all going to plan so no complaints at all.
Today's run was particularly pleasing, being the longest run so far at 12 miles. The legs felt strong all the way round and, considering there was a 400ft hill at 3 miles and 9 miles, it was a real leap forward in fitness level to not be struggling towards the end of this run.
The 'rest' days in the last couple of days clearly did their job.

Oh yes, I am very very pleased with myself. I have that "heavy legged" feeling now though, and can't see me doing much tomorrow - may have a rest day and then run again on Tuesday - giving me a bit of time to recover.
I went skiing last night for the first time in about 6 months, and did wonder this morning whether my calves would ache too much, but after the first half mile or so they stopped protesting so much!
I am dead chuffed though

Rich You are a machine....I am impressed, very very impressed! I think I might have to go back to basics and doing power walking and less running?I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Wish I had better new to report but my training isn't going according to plan at the moment. Left work early on Friday to do my 8-mile run that I had planned, but when I set off I was OK for about the first mile, then I just couldn't get my breath. I was running into quite a decent wind, but I was quite worried. I couldn't catch my breath and my legs were sooooo heavy I could hardly lift them. I decided to cut short my run so I ended up doing about 5 miles. Didn't run yesterday and didn't do my planned 1/2 marathon race today either. Forced myself out to the gym early afternoon as by that time the weather had turned really nasty and did 7k on the treadmill in comfort (40mins). I only stopped because I had made arrangements to meet OH and was running out of time.
So what is that all about? Last weekend I ran 10 miles with ease, this week I can't even do 8! All I can put it down to is being tired after a hard week at work, but that sounds like a pathetic excuse.
Any ideas anyone?Sealed Pot Challenge #8 £341.90
