Just popping in to let you know I haven't forgotten about my running. I went out on Wednesday early doors (6.30am) for my 'easy' 4-miler, although at that time it never feels easy to me. I had my HRM on and it was bobbing around the 140-145 point until I saw this chap standing on the corner in the shadows with his hood up. HR shot through the roof I can tell you! He was probably just waiting for a lift to work or something but I was very spooked.

Didn't do my scheduled 8-miler yesterday but I'm leaving work early today to have a run. I do sometimes run into difficulties with childcare, etc and even though DS is 13 I don't like leaving him alone for too long, especially in the evening. Not to worry, I'll fit the runs in as best I can. TBH it fits in OK this week as I'm not running tomorrow, but on Sunday instead.

Bright and mild here today, can't wait to get my trainers on!

Great improvements all round on here, well done everyone!

    Week10
    Mon3/11 7.0 miles Brisk Walk
    Tues4/11 3 x 1 mile 7:03, 7:02, 7:13 (Pulse 130) (Avg. 7:06)
    Weds5/11 10K 52:36 (Pulse 112)
    Thurs6/11 8 Miles 1:14:03 (Pulse 108)
    Fri7/11 10K 57:46 (Pulse 94)

Today's run was very gentle (lowest pulse of any run so far). The aim is to take tomorrow's 10K just as easily to ensure as much strength as possible is ready for Sunday's first 12 miler.

The 12 miles will include a tough 2 mile long hill twice, so not really the sort of run to be tackling on tired legs, especially the first time!

Its nice to know that you can run a 10K on a pulse of 94 in less time than I can run it full pelt (prob pulse 140 or so)...

How do you do it?? ;)

Rubbish - You've run 10 miles at a pace equivalent to about 52:30 for 10K and carried on for another 4 miles!

    I think you're underestimating your own progress!!!:p

Well its not a bad 'weirdness' for someone aiming for a marathon!

Hi everyone. Congrats to all those who've managed to get out there and run, and commiserations to those feeling poorly.

Despite my best intentions all I've done this week is the almost 6 miles on Wednesday evening. Got home early yesterday and had over an hour before I needed to leave for hills training. Now this time of year is really difficult for me as I hate the dark and cold so doing anything after work, other than going home to the sofa is a struggle. Unsurprisingly, I stayed home curled up on the sofa  The only good thing was that I'd cycled to work so I didn't feel too bad.

This evening I cycled home and am vegging out on the sofa (again  ). I'll definitely run on Sunday, just not sure what the distance will be. Becky is definitely my idol for getting up in the mornings to run. I might have to hire you as my coach next winter, with Rich cracking the whip so I don't slow down :D

    Happy Friday evening everyone :T

4 miles done this evening - we had to walk some because Pania had a stomach cramp part way round, and was worried she might have to do a "Paula Radcliffe".......so we cut our run short, but we still managed 4 miles, which 3 or 4 weeks ago we would have thought impossible!

Still working out how the heck to use my garmin - I need "garmins for dummies" :o

Where did you get your Garmin from Hypno? Good 4 miles under the belt..better than sitting on your bottom on the sofa, eating chocolate cake ;)

I just press "reset", then "start" and that's that :)
