Thanks you guys! Noted those ideas down! I ran 3 miles yesterday, planning for 4 miles of fartlek tomorrow, hills on Friday and a 7 miler on Sunday that will see me ok for this week. As well as my cycling a few miles to work and back so that will help.

I need to get me a running high viz vest or something really, ready for runs in the early evening after work just in case I can't run at lunch. It is my birthday tomorrow so might get one with my birthday money!

on a note about hi viz things......

i was driving Erin to Brownies last night and i could see something small reflecting in the distance of my headlights.... so i pulled over out of the way of what became apparent to be a runner.... he had tiny reflective elements to his trainers and on his trousers, but nothing reflective on his upper half... very unsafe as the road was actually unlit.... He was actually wearing a bright yellow running top but it wasn't glowing or reflective in any way....

So remember that hiviz green/yellow does not necessarily mean reflective...

usually reflective is scotchbrite type stuff which is grey to naked eye and glows bright in headlamps.....

    just a safety note!!!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

Thanks Land of Maz...I never thought of it like that! I suppose the high viz stuff is ok for during the day but night time needs reflective stuff. I need to get a few new bits really, night look at getting a jacket too for if it rains. Anyone have any they can recommend?

Running WAS going great and improving my times but I have been out of action with a unknown knee injury for the last 2 weeks  . Tomorrow am just going to test the water to see how it feels as I don't want to do any long term damage. If it hurts or flares up again then off to the Dr's!

I need some reflective stuff too Donna. There is a good Nike ipod waterproof running jacket on ebay that I have had my eye on for ages but just hoping I might find a cheaper one!

Methinks I will try the ol' ebay...as that should be cheaper (I hope!). Where do you get the tchibo stuff from? Can you buy it online?
