The weather is hell outside!!! gale force winds and driving rain!! Am i expected to go out in that!?!!?! Hoping a for a better day tomorrow, although forecast is similar.... Pah!
Well done to everyone getting out there and doin it!!!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
3.8 blustery miles in 40:50 :j It was the same route I did on Wednesday and I knocked a couple of minutes off my time, so I am pleased with that. I did have a little walk (or two) about half a mile from home, and I found it generally quite tough, which tells me I set off too quickly. So if I can get the balance right I would hope that next week I can get under 40 mins for that circuit.
Getting there........
well done to those getting out there today - and to those who are having a "rest day" just think how much energy you will have for tomorrow's runSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. I've been out for another 3 miler up the track behind my house, it's uphill going out on a steady gradient so it was hard work to begin with. Great coming back though.
Rest day tomorrow, legs are telling me to stop for a bit. I'll be back out on Monday.0 -
You think thats bad Maz - try going to Oxford Street today - honestly it was carnage!!!!
Hey hypno thats great you were able to take minutes off your time - oh under 40 mins is definitely possibly - what a good target to aim for!
Oh and thanks Rich for the nice things you said about my progress, but I suspect it will be 'Seriously chuffed and seriously exhausted by the end of 26 miles'!0 -
If you are not seriously exhausted - it could be argued that you havent worked hard enough lol
Oh and I would rather do twenty marathons back to back rather than brave Oxford Street. Haven't been there by choice for years“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -
To be fair it is about 15 mins from my house (the P'mark end anyway) so it was on the way home for me from the coffee shop in Seven dials...big mistake though!
Luckily I only spent £20 and got two xmas pressies.
I got to walk through Hyde Park - it's amazing I run through it a lot and never realise how pretty it is! Does anybody else find that when running they just zone out and dont really notice the surroundings?0 -
What lovely refreshing weather!!:p
At least the pavements are clear of pedestrians when the weather gets a bit iffy!

Very pleased with today's run, feeling very strong after 5 successive running days so couldn't ask for more really.
Tomorrow's task to finish off the 8 week fitness plan: The first 10-miler, incorporating a 2 mile long continuous hill between 6-8 miles rising nearly 400ft!. At least the same hill was experienced in last week's 8 miler so it isn't as daunting a prospect as it was before last week!
All the same it will be a nice feeling of achievement if I can get that run under the belt without mishap.
Very well done to everyone who's been out today - I suspect there'll be a few more days like this before the winter is out!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Morning All
Just catching up on yesterdays running progress and everyone is doing fantastic. Becky thats some serious pace there girl...well done!
God I am tired, went out to a 40th Birthday party last night crawled into bed at 12:30am only to be proceeded by DD claiming she felt sick...finally got to sleep for 5 mins. So 5am (new time) I am up with DD having had about 4 hours sleep. Can't even remember if my knee hurts as I was half asleep as I cam down the stairs this morning, but if it hurts going back up later no running for me today (that and the fact that I am feeling lazy today and am looking for an excuse!)
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

I hope DD is better soon and that you don't come down with whatever "bug" she is harbouring!
