Sally, I so wish I lived near a beach! I have just booked a week away with my sister and we are going to spend a week at Croyde beach in a caravan next year....
I have done NO running this week, suffered a bit from lack of motivation and babysitter BUT i have to get back to it now...On a positive note, since seeing a personal trainer I am starting to lose the bingo wings....she worked my arms so hard this week I have had to have help to put my coat on:rotfl: :rotfl: seeing her every week is the one thing that is stopping me stuff my face with food when I am on a downer....
Hopefully i will do a five miler at least this weekend but maybe I will start with a walk today...Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

I've got to work today but hopefully I can fit in a run round the block later this afternoon. I have loads of housework that I must get done, so I could use the run as an avoidance tactic for the hoovering and ironing
Hope you manage to get some miles in Sammy, and very envious of the toned arms! Mine are definite dinner lady armsSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Sammy I love Croyde bay...and there are always nice surfer men to look at
I do love living by the sea, just find a walk along the beach always blows the cobwebs away and clears the mind
Im at work today too hypno...enjoy it (if thats possible)
Got a really sore knee or the muscles around it, so might not be able to run tomorrow. Im not going to risk injury if its bad so will see in the morning.I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Def be careful with that knee, Sallyx, Far better to have a few days rest than to risk long term damage.

Morning all,
Just got back from my 8 mile - 1.10 which is a great time considering how tired I was and how many hills there were!
I'm pretty chuffed but seriously exhausted now - its been a long week so I'm off to have a shower and then out for the day.
Have great runs everyone!

Sally,
It is important not to turn a slight knee problem into something worse.
Try not to run until you can walk up a flight of stairs 2/3 times without feeling any discomfort. For normal stress and strain this will take no more than 3 days, so just cancel runs until its healed - I would without hesitation.
So you're taking the right approach, but if it takes 3 days, it takes 3 days!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Another impressive step in the right direction - completing 8 miles on tired legs is something which couldn't have been contemplated a few weeks back (or even completing 8 miles on fresh legs).
Having covered marathon distance already this week, with tomorrow to come, you are entitled to feel a little tired.
It also shows how the 1-25 for 10miles last Sunday was no fluke.
'Pretty chuffed but seriously exhausted'! We just have to work on changing this to 'Seriously chuffed and pretty exhausted' by just after lunch on April 26th!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
