    Morning all!

Wow Hobsch your times are really fast!

Did my 4 mile fartlek this morning - was hard work after my 10 miler on Sunday - but at least I did it today...

Looking forward to my running week this week - and even better got another day off today - so when I go back in on Weds it will be only a 3 day week :)

Hope you enjoy your runs everyone!

Well done Becky, you'll get to love the feeling of heavy legs when you've experienced it enough times because of the bounce back afterwards.

Just think back to abandoning this session last week and then by Sunday amazing yourself, and me, by doing that 1hr 25mins 10-miler!

    You're doing just fine.

I know I still do a little smile to myself about that time...in a sad way I'm really looking forward to my first 12 miler in a few weeks to see if I can continue the pace for another two miles!

    So what's your run today?

    Another 10K today.

I'm likely to be in the same boat as yourself with heavy legs from the work over the weekend, so it is likely to be very gentle just to ease through the miles.

I like 'plod along' runs though - no pressure and well earned from the previous efforts!

To be honest, Sally, cakes and biscuits and anything sweet really should go off the appetite radar as mileage builds.

The key is to have foods with slow release sugars rather than immediate highs followed by troughs, which sweet foods give, leading to wanting another high straight away.

Have whatever your body desires - its pretty good at telling you what it wants.

With your mileage you'll be getting all the nutrients you need anyway and your body isn't fussed where you get the rest of the calories from. I thought Guinness was a 'meal in a glass' anyway?

    Sounds good to me!

    Thanks ROD.
Yes, I really felt a bit low yesterday with things generally and really fancied doing a run. Was just going to do the one lap from my house but felt quite good so did 2. Felt so much better in myself afterwards too.

That is the reason I did so much running originally (20 odd years ago!!) - because it cleared my head from all the "stuff" I was trying to deal with.

I have to admit, that the last few weeks I have had a permanent head-ache, which I had put down to the phenomenal stress we have been suffering at work.....but since I did my first run last Tuesday, the headaches have completely gone!

I hope you are feeling better today Hobsch.

And that is why runners sleep so well, because they have already dealt with the 'stuff' during their runs, whereas other bods have to process the same 'stuff' when they're trying to get to sleep!

    Thanks Becky/Hypno.
Yes, head feels a lot better today thank you. Its a great way to destress and forget about things, or think about things but have nobody around or any distractions.
Have just got a band thingy for my glasses so I dont have that same problem again.

    Hi Hobsch.

What "band thingy" did you get for your glasses? Did you get it from the opticians? I wear contacts most of the time but, very occasionally, I have worn my glasses for running. Problems with slippage is why I don't wear them more often.
