Sammy - you are such a natural runner, i was reading back thru my posts (to try and get my runs documented onto my spreadsheet), and i could see that you have routinely done 4 miles+ so i knew it wouldln't take much to push you up a gear..... and if the trainer is tasty then even better!!!!

What a fantastic run you! And bonus of having Mr Hunk...think I might move so I can come too :rotfl:

So did you feel you pushed yourself or was it a comfortable run? Does he have a plan for each week so you progress or will there always be new people that keeps the group back?

I was pushed at the begining as I don't normally set off at such a quick pace (10 minute miles) and i usually stop for a break after five mins:rotfl: I always find the first bit hard and we had the added issue of a hill, but I cannot avoid them where I live. Then I started to get into a comfortable stride...so then he made us do sprints, which I thought would kill me.....then the hills pushed me some more.

Not sure if he has a plan yet, it was the first night and it hasn't been advertised as yet, I only found it by accident. He is hoping there will be more people join over the weeks..he seemed very tuned in to the different abilities and was very supportive. I didn't feel like a dork at all...

I am going back to do his military fitness class tomorrow:rotfl:

Thanks becky - I am well chuffed with myself...firstly for not chickening out... I am quite socially inept sometimes, I am okay when i get going, in fact I am the gobby one at the back usually but taking that first leap is hard.

Maz, I am NOT a natural runner!!!although I am quite chuffed you think so....

I have found that I do love it though and I can see why people get addicted. I have also been running on and off for a year now. If you had told me twelve months ago that I could 'routinely' run four miles I would have laughed my socks off.

Maz, you have to be praised for giving me inspiration to join a running club:T How did your run go?

  • Hey peeps!

Well done Sammy! Bet you're chuffed you went now? :T

Seems like you had a ball (whilst also working very hard) and it's always good to have a bit of eye candy to focus on!

I've been to body balance, which consisted of contorting myself into positions that just were not made for me, lol followed by a run.

    And get this.....I ran a mile!!! :T
Small in comparison to some of you, but I feel that this board has helped me push myself a little more! I've been doing 1k runs so far, but a mile didn't really affect me too badly. My lungs were giving way, rather than my legs!

Ok so I know I said it a few times but tonight I actually went for my first run since having the baby 7 weeks ago. I went out for 20 minutes and went about 2 miles, I felt really good so very pleased with myself. Next run is on Thursday, no goals at the minute other than to just get back into a routine for a few weeks.

Well done everyone for your continued progress.
