It is the luck of the draw. It is nothing to do with experience or ability or anything else. It is worth checking your bank account. Your fee will have been debited if you have been accepted. I sort of knew I had been rejected a couple of days ago when I checked mine
Looks like I have been rejected too then in that case
and also my sister as I did hers for her. Actually saying that I bequeathed my money (must have had a mad moment) and that hasn't been taken yet? I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Bad luck Chris/Pania - that's how the cookie crumbles sometimes unfortunately.
Its not quite the same thing, but the Blackpool Marathon is on 5th April and is fast and flat.
I'd rather go for that than have to go through the 'raise £1500 for charity' route to grab a place in London.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Me too, I think the charities do ask a lot really. My Sister did it last year and ran for NSPCC, she had to raise £1800  however she knows lots of very generous people (lucky her) and managed to raise £3.5k although she said she wouldn't do another charity place again.I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. She did very well.
But it is very difficult to raise that much. And once you've done it once you just can't keep repeating the exercise.
Plus, by supporting the sale of places to charities at £200 a time takes more places out of the ballott for club runners who are quite happy to pay a few quid out of their entry fee to charity but don't want to be obliged to raise hundreds every time.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

I was telling Angela that I was thinking of doing Edinburgh and she said that you two are doing it. I am going to look at the website this afternoon. See you there! I had a place two years ago but flu put paid to that“The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it.” Eckhart Tolle0 -
I agree Rich, I understand thats how charities make their much needed funds but still £1800 is rediculous in my opinionI'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Yay :T I think the Edinburgh system is a lot better - first come, first served sort of thing. Plus charities are only asking for £500 sponsorship for their places which is much more realistic.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
