    Morning Luc
I can't honestly remember what has happened since you were on last , probably not a lot other than chit chat and a bit of banter!
Hope the study is going ok, when are your exams?

Exams are in November. I've got 4 weeks to cram in what I should have been doing for the last 4 months! I should still pass 2 of 3 papers if I stick in now but not as well as I would have if I'd had more motivation recently. JOb isn't great (no challenge) and the lack of push there means I'm not really motivated to push myslef IYSWIM

Luc you will be fine I am sure of it. Won't be long until Mat leave and you won't have to think about work for a little while! Its carpy when work is carp isn't it..I mean you spend so much of your life working wouldn't it be nice if everyone really enjoyed their job.

Right better go and see if DD is ok, have been up for hours in the night clearing up puke...no work for me today (benefits or downside of having a sick child?!)

Awww Sally, hope she feels better soon. It's nice to have the day off, but by the time you've run round after them all day, you do start to realise that work is much easier! :rotfl:

Maybe she will sleep most of the day, so you can have a rest?

    Morning all,

Just a quick check in on my fartlek progress this morning:
    10 mins gentle jog warm-up
roughly 2 miles at faster than 10k pace - I know because I caught and hung on the shoulder of man whose normally much faster than me...
10 mins recovery (I know not quite the Paula 1 min but hey)
1 mile at faster than 10K pace, but not as fast as the first two
    1 mile 10K pace
10 mins very slow warm down

YEAH I feel amazing, its horrible when you are out there, only half way and already dying, but its amazing how much further than you thought you can push the body!!

Rich - its slightly over 4 miles and has steps but its good to push it I think since time is limited - anything you'd change for next week let me know.

    Off to start work now...

    Everyone have a great day,
    Becky_rtw

It doesn't half make me feel lazy when someone has already done a fartlek by 9am!
(But I'm sure I'll get over it! :p).

The first thing is that you must have done something right because they are certainly the best sessions for giving you a buzz and building confidence. The strength you feel as you get into doing these on a regular basis is what gives you the confidence to take the easy days very easy.

As for changing anything - no. You had your jog warm up, jog warm down and stretches of faster than 10K - everything else is up to you!

Just remember that the next hard effort is the same session next week. Ordinarily, Thursday's hills (if you can find any) would be a hard effort but with it being the first it needs to be cautious.

'Time Is Limited'? No it isn't - there's plenty time. Another thing to bear in mind is that in the overall plan to April it is important to have covered the MAJORITY of key sessions not ALL key sessions, so any time that a hard session needs to be cancelled or converted to an easy run is no great problem. That is as long as the majority of sessions are covered and the reason for cancellation isn't pure laziness (but I'm sure that wouldn't apply :p).

Well done Becky, that sounds like hard work. :T

I can't wait until I can run that far!

I ran the school run this morning, only a mile but I will be doing my 5k run tomorrow so I didn't want to push it and make my neck worse today (although it did, a bit :wall:).

I'm starting to wonder if I need to find somewhere new to run though, because the asthma doesn't bother me when I do the school run, but it does when I run round the reservoir - maybe something is triggering it. Damn, I love running round there too.

snaggles it might be the moisture in the air that makes it harder for you to breath around the resevoir (providing it does have water in it?)
Hope the neck is holding up ok
