Your right Becky but I have always had issues with food and one day I would really like to get over it. I hope that by running it would enable me to relax and just eat sensibly

I do understand sally - as said before there are a few eating disorders in my family...it is tough to relax about these things.

I caught mine from a man a while back - its amazing how chilled out most of them are about food and how they dont tend to get fat unless they drink loads...

All in moderation, including moderation I say:D

Just checked and its not too far from where I did my last nights run (Putney Heath)... no idea how to get there though...

Whats the distance like (I'm down for a 10mile on this Sunday)?

Putney Heath to Streatham Common is a stretch surely? I don't know where you live but I assumed you lived close to Battersea Park. There are a few rail stations close to the Common. I'm afraid I don't know the name of the closest one, even though I run past it most Thursday nights en route to hills training :o I'll find out and post it here.

I'm doing a club race this Sunday over in Wimbledon. It's a 10 miler which I will use as a training race for the big M. I just hope the weather is warm that day.

My Sunday runs are generally dictated by my training programme and from next Sunday I'll be doing 18 milers +. We could run part of my distance together, if you like?

Sorry yeah I would get a train there...I'm over the river from Battersea park and up a bit! ;)

Its nice to do longer runs somewhere different for a change of scenery, I'll check out the trains tomorrow.
  • i did a nice thing today for a fellow runner neighbour....

he is a young lad who lives in my street, i often see him running in the evenings and have been known to nod in runners acknowledgement to him...

i passed him tonight after 7pm as it was getting pretty dark, he was running on the main road which is unlit, and he didn't have any reflective vest or anything...

i have a Ron Hill Grey vest with reflective strips which i don't ever wear, my running club uses the hi viz green version, so i popped along to him and gave him the vest... he was delighted, and we had a nice wee chat about running and where is good locally.... he runs on average 8 miles and must go out 3-4 times a week..
it was nice to talk to him rather than just kinda nod....

Big G thought it was odd to go up to a neighbour i don't really know and just give him something, but i said "och you wouldn't understand, it's a runners thing!":rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

  • Hi Becky. I did a map check and Streatham rail station is the closest to the Common. There is a station called Streatham Common but that is not on the main road (Streatham High Road).

Streatham rail is on the main road so once you leave the station, cross over the road and turn right and keep going til you see the Common, then you pick which hill you want to do :D.
