You will get more out of it if you leave it until later.

In the meantime drink plenty of water. Alcohol will have dehydrated you.

is it wise to go running when you have been drinking the night before?

    Heya Jinky!

Mmmmm I wouldn't personally as like cnoelj says it dehydrates you and that is the last thing you need before a run! Are you planning on a long distance or just a quick runabout?

Depends if you are after a good run, good time or anything too I suppose. If you just wanna run a bit and get home in one peice so will be taking it easy you might be ok!

Hope you are ok! Maybe you could leave it till a bit later in the day and get some water down you first! I am thinking about running tonight as opposed to tomorrow morning...but depends how I feel after this afternoon as am off to get my haircut in town and I live in Bristol so it is gonna be mental with the new Cabot Circus being there!!! xxx

Hiya Donner, What the Cabot Circus ended up like? I don't get up there as often as I'd like to see the family, and haven't been down town since may

Jinky, this is difficult to answer because no runners drink! :o:D:rotfl:

If you've had a skinfull the guys are right in that you'll be dehydrated so you need to get some liquid in your system.

But fwiw the modus operandi for runners after a heavy session is to get up early and get out for a run. It may take a bit of will power to get out, but there's no way you can maintain a hangover or yukky feeling through a run. It is the best hangover cure going except the one available to NHS staff - the oxygen bottle!

It is far better for you in a general sense to get out early because of the toxins you have swimming around your body. Increased bloodflow gets the toxins ejected quicker.

So the heavier the session the more beneficial to get out early!

It is meant to be amazing! I was down in town on Sunday night and it lloked like a bomb site, but is meant to have been all sorted out and have about 100 shops open ready for business! Just seems like quite a lot of them are normal Broadmead shops which have moved a few metres down the road to the new complex! Could do with a few running shops...Bristol doesn't have many...boo hiss! Take it your folks are Bristol way then? I try and steer clear of town as the wallet doesn't like it! But have short hair now so need it cut a lot more  otherwise I look like a right muppet!

Bit concerned about getting down there today, I have recently passed my Driving test but am certainly not driving, as parking would be mental and I get in a right state trying to park at the best of times! So will take the bus...but they reckon traffic will be horrendous! Will go in the next hour or 2 and have a look about before my haircut! I will have to give you the full update later! xxx

  • Was meant to start that Running group last week but didn't! I have had sooo much on this week it is mental, I always seem to be working and when I am not, I am being mum to such a madam it is unreal...kids! Plus it is just me and Em's at home which makes it harder to get out and about, hence trying to run in lunch breaks etc...makes going to work more 'bearable'!

Plus have been trying to get DD to do some sort of sport and she has taken up Netball and might be playing for the school which means that the matches will be on a Thursday, same day as Running club so I should stop thinking about myself and my running and be there for the madam instead, so will try and join a running club in a year or two when DD is bigger and who knows, maybe I will be settled down or something...doubt it though :( But anyways, will keep coming on here and yapping about my running to you lot...as you are the only ones who are interested!!! Least I hope you are!!!

HUGE good luck to those guys running tomorrow! Hope you have some fab runs and nice weather etc and everything goes good for you all!

    xxx
