I had to look up what 'barfed' meant - it must be a Scottish thing. Ah well, that's my one thing learnt for today!:p

barfed is not a scottish thing, you must just be posher than you let on!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

My first thoughts were it meant 'farted' but I couldn't see why everyone would want to fart based on Becky calling me 'Coachie'! :p

But then again Becky can cause a funny reaction in some people so I've heard!

Well I do play football as well as my running, but I try not to let them conflict and don't really count the footie days as "rest" days.

Ooh yes, I play footy too! Good point! :)

Well he does watch the tennis.

Mind you I do watch and play tennis myself, but then I am fairly middle class!

Barfed is an Americanism I believe. Can't believe Rich hadn't heard it. Guess I is just more street, innit?

My exercise/running routine isn't really that well-planned yet, so not really ideal for the forthcoming GNR but hey, I'll get round, albeit the last few miles may be less comfortable than the first.

I tend to run twice a week, one short run (4-5 miles) and one longer run (however far I get in 60-90 minutes). I also go to the gym, but I like to use the various different cardio machines (cross-trainer, treadmill, exercise bike, sometimes rower) rather than the resistance stuff, which I find boring. I do like to swim as well, on occasion. I sound like an exercise freak but I'm not, I probably do some form of exercise three times a week, depends on childcare and other commitments.

I try to keep my diet healthy but like cakes, biscuits and chocolate too. One of the best things about running is that you can indulge, safe in the knowledge that you will burn a good few hundred calories on a decent run.

I'm one of those waiting to hear about LM ballot places, so my pretty unstructured exercise routine is going to get a whole lot more structured if I get a YES letter.

(...and I know what barfed means and I'm not scottish...) :rotfl:

    Oh nooo Sally :(

I've read (on the internet, so it must be right), that if you visualise yourself doing something, it is excellent preparation for actually doing it and can make it more likely to happen, so maybe you could sort of visualise yourself running and feeling great?

(I'm being serious, not sarcastic, btw.....)

At least you've just got to wait a few days... I sometimes think I shouldn't have come back on here when I read other peoples' training plans as it gives me proper itchy feet:p

P.S. Rich - have you never watched The Simpsons? Bart and co 'barf' on the show all the time;)
