not tomorrow hun... have a day off...rest and repair is important.....
you'll probably be a bit sore tomorrow and even moreso the day after.... but it would be okay to run on thursday...
plus if you do it every day you're more likely to get sick of it and stop soon, every 2 days, or even just 3 times a week is plenty at our kinda level....
Please coach Rich, feel free to correct me if you like....!I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
Yo yo yo! Donna here!
Hope everyone is well...man I have got a lot to catch up on reading here...this thread is going like the clappers!
Anyhooos, I went for a 4 miler in my lunchbreak and decided to have a go at some intervals! I ran a mile warm up and then 2 miles fast then jog at similar distances, but god did I find it hard! At first it wasn't too bad but then by the end I felt like I was gonna throw up! Then had a mile cool down! Took me about 40 mins so despite the fast / slow bits, managed to average out at about 10 min miles which was cool. Still feeling strong which is a bonus! Thought I would have been a bit faster but suppose the fast / slow evens it all out...
I didn't really drink enough before the run either as was in a meeting, so really need to sort that out! As well as writing up a proper schedule and getting it on here for peeps to see as I know Sallyx wanted to take a looksy!
Righteo, gonna try and catch up a bit on this thread...before I crash out big styleeeeee!:j 'Proud To Be Dealing With My Debts' - DFW Nerd member 866 :j0 -

Just thought I would pop in and say well done Jinky:T
Not sure if running is for me as I had a slipped disc in my back 2 years ago and I am not sure if running might cause me any problems. I have never had a pain free day since but if it may help matters then I will give it a try..........need to find out first though. But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.0 -

Well I figured I'd go with the "do what your body tells you" thing and just get on with it...did 13.5 miles in 2:08 in the end, which I was relatively pleased with - 11.5 mins better than last time. I feel a little bit knackered after it, actally...but in a good way
I did as you advised though - did 2x5.7 mile laps and a 2 miler on the end so I was never that far from home...it's a little bit gutting though, going past my house the second time I was thinking "woo, almost there!" and then it dawned on me that, in fact, I have another 2 miles, or the best part of 20 mins to go and it's kinda like "OK, so I'm not *that* nearly there..."
Anyway, starting to feel I might actually enter a half marathon at some point, becoming increasingly confident I could stay the distance on race day..0 -
Hi Louise, nice to see you over here. I've had some pretty major joint problems in the past too, so I'm taking it slowly and trying to listen to what my body is telling me. Would your gp be able to give you advice as to whether it's a good idea?
Idio, it sounds like you are making loads of progress, well done! :T"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Well guys,
No aches or pains after my 5.5 miler on mon, ( yes Rich, it turned out to be 5.5 but I'm still chuffed with time of 1hr30 anyway:T :j )
Did my usual 2.5miles today, last 1.2m in only 15mins:D

Worked out some other routes at 1)2.5m 2)5.5m 3)6.76m 4)10m
Now have to work out what, when, where, how often to build up to the 18th
Well done everyone else.
