Actually, I had a bit of an epiphany today.....(hit 'page down' now if you 're easily bored...)

I was recently in a position where someone, hopefully unintentionally, took the very tiny little bit of remaining self-esteem I posess, scrunched it into a ball and kicked it as far as they could (don't feel sorry for me, this isn't a self-pity post, lol :)).

Where the hell are they? and i'll sort them out, lemme at 'em... c'mon.... lemme at 'em.....!!!

But more than that, I realised that for the first time in my entire life, I wasn't doing this for anyone elses benefit, I was doing it for ME. And I might not look like Kylie, I might not be bubbling over with confidence, but actually, I'm a nice person, I care about other people, I try never to hurt their feelings, I make a point of encouraging and supporting my friends....

So from now on, if you don't like me, nuts to ya, cos I'm alright!

    :p

Well you are now - with that training plan! If that doesn't make you a proper runner, nothing will!

Yeah all very well writing it down...implementing it is my problem!! It starts next week so can put my feet up this week and recover!

Anyway, today I was trying on clothes (okay, okay, I maybe COULD have fitted in a quick run, but the lure of the White Rose Centre was too strong :p), and everything was making me look shapeless and baggy.....and then suddenly I realised they were all too big! :j

And it made me feel great, that only a few weeks of a healthier lifestyle were having such a quick and obvious impact.

Hooray for you! (feels good doesn't it?)

I wouldn't say I had particularly low self esteem or confidence, but even so it has improved greatly with weight loss and fitness. Just your clothes fitting better, plus the knowledge that you can now run 'x' distance and speed - which you never dreamed you could before - has a way of making you feel better about yourself!

In my case, the vanity of wanting to look good in my wedding pictures has spurned me on to it!

Haha, well it may reveal my true identity, but OK then. Won't be sorting that out until sometime after we're back from honeymoon though, so you'll have to be patient!
