No, I'm not! But the alternative is sitting in my car waiting for DS to finish footy and reading a book. I thought about going for a run around the roads but the main road is very fast and has no footpaths and the estates around the sports arena aren't very nice and I wouldn't wanting to be running into a gang of hoodies!

It took all of my courage and determination but I did feel quite smug last night when I got home. :D

    :T :T :T

    it's a fab feeling innit!!

I took a brave step last night. I got a 12-month track pass for my local running track. £80 for the year, which is good value as a single session costs £4. I plan to use it when my son does his football training, which is on an all-weather pitch at the same sports centre. So last night I did:
    3 x 400m warm-up slow jog.
7 x 400m at a moderate pace (for me) I tried to keep them consistent but they varied between 1:50 and 1:57. I had a 2-minute rest walking around between laps.
    Then I did 3 x 400m cool-down followed by stretching.

I have done coached track sessions before, with a club, but only a couple, and a very long time ago.

I was wondering if anyone (Rich?) can advise as to whether this was worthwhile, and what other types of track session I could do.

Rich's light is off, how very dare he!

so repost your question again later or it will get lost in the other posts.... although knowing Rich he'll pick up on it anyway....

I guess its only now around 3 years later I have trained my brain again! (although some would still say I am a half wit!)

Just a quick running related post...my legs are feeling much better today (they were feeling rather "out of energy" yesterday) and I feel quite energetic generally. As I missed out on playing footy today (stupid Outlook), I was thinking of having another crack at the half marathon.

My first time for it was 2:19:30ish, which is over 10 minute miles, so would like to get under the 10min/mile avg today - and hope I can do this without killing myself (it's been 3 weeks since I did it the first time...must've had some training effect in that time?)...so, the question is...Is this a wise thing to do? Or is it pushing myself a bit hard on the back of the 10k?
