Right then Rich, I did my maybe, sort of, we'll see, 7.3miles today:p :rotfl:
so how does this now go. I have 3.3wks to go until the 10. Do I go for the 10 now to see how I get on? or what? As my normal walks are 2.5m's to the odd 6m
I am no longer fazed by the 10, just no idea how long it will/should take? :rotfl: :rotfl: Yes I did notice your comment earlier and it made me laugh then as it has now!
right I think I am getting my head around this...sort of!
What was the mileage you said I should aim for each week? was it 50??
I've just found a quote from Peter Coe on the same subject, Seb's dad and coach:
"We prefer not to invite injuries into our training programs unlike the Injury Promotion Industry".
At some point I'll show you his manual - what he doesn't know about physiology isn't worth knowing!
Mileage wise I think you should at least be aiming to match Paula's at 140-150mpw.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

10 will probably take around 3hrs 30mins.
Have a go at it but do 4 loops of 2.5 so if you have to call it a day at 5 or 7.5 you'll not be miles from home.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Ha ha ha...140 mpw is a joke, I cant imagine how the hell she manages to fit that in...Then thinking about it that is her job and if you did 37 hours a week I could imagine you would run a fair few miles :rotfl:I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. That's metres, surely.....

Nice answer!!
Your mileage will just build as the sessions progress, but should peak around 10 miles for the 2 midweek runs and 20 on the long run, so 40 miles.
But that's weeks away. Initially, you'd be looking at maybe two 4s and an 8 long run, so 16 miles, which you're comfortable with!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
