Just tried to post my training plan up but it comes up unreadable..grrrrr

It was readable before it disappeared.

The answer is, yes, absolutely spot on. All the alternation is built in with progression on all fronts - Distance, Speed, Total Workload and all done with the least chance of injury.

It also takes you to within spitting distance of marathon fitness. Since there are new sessions for you here and also increased mileages there is enough for your body to be getting on with. So, ideally no races during this period, just concentrate on the training.
    Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j
    Blackpool Marathon 11/4/2010 (Target=2:59:59) (6:52/mile)
    Abingdon Marathon 17/10/2010, (Target=2:48:57) (6:27/mile)

Glad it was readable for the 2 seconds it was up! Anyway glad it was ok and doable! No Races though....are you sure Coach....couldn't I fit a sneaky 10k in there somewhere ;)

Maz Good luck with your running/walking tonight. Im due to go out again tonight for another 10 min run. I want to be able to run the 5k run easily in July. I shall be keeping an eye on your progress as we seem to have started at the same time.

Now all you experienced runners, how do you work out your mileage of the run? any good sites that I can look at and plan my own route?

All this sunny weather certainly gets you in the mood to get out there and run

See Snaggles I told you I could barely run back in April...a small but perfect start of 10 mins!

    That's good!

Be kind to your body and it will be kind back!

Now, is that a saying or did I just make it up?

    Either way it's true!

i have been feeling a bit down and un-runnerly this last couple of days, stemming from the fact that i didn't get a run in at the weekend... (Grrrrr! blooody runchum! and Grrrrr bloooddy me not having the get up and go to do it alone!)

Coupled with the fact that you lot are doing so well and making massive progress, talking about distances i can only dream of doing....

it all just made me feel a bit "meh" and sorry for myself....

I've been lurking like mad just haven't had anything productive to say really, so kept quiet...

    Anyhow, i'm over it now!

I took Erin to Brownies tonight and decided to use the time effectively to go for a run... i did 2.75miles (according to car trip meter afterwards) in about 45mins... (including one walk after first 10 minutes as i was breathless and miserable but then i tld myself everyone struggles and subsequent miles are easier...only about 1.5-2minutes walking) and the rest was running...

i felt great actually, i took a road that i'd never ran on before in the next village and just followed my nose, i was listening to radio in 1 ear thru my phone (took it for safety as unknown quiet roads and didn't want to be stranded with broken ankle!)

I was going to go so far and turn back but just kept going as i could see the road led back round to village again.... when i got near the village boundary i was going to stop but i was so pumped and pleased that i kept going and ran down the lovely downhill back to the school where i started, which turns out to be an extra 0.75miles on my original stopping point......

I know they are only little numbers but they mean a lot to me.....

I thought i would share some scenery from my run, this made me appreciate how lucky i am to be able to run in such great scenery.....

oh and there were many of them, whaddya call them again, erm.... hillls!!!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....
    (it's part of my charm!)

Thanks so much for posting that. I've been feeling like my 10 minutes is a bit laughable :o so that gives me a bit of hope at least.

I need to try and find more opportunities for getting out and running without the pram I think. Pushing it uphill whilst running really isn't easy! :o Especially when I've usually got an 8 year old clinging on to the handles too, so I'm having to drag him along with with me! :rotfl:

I have discovered a new tactic today though - every time he runs the school run with me, he earns 30 minutes on his DS. :D
