Doing a marathon takes confidence and gives you plenty of confidence too. And it is a good way of facing up to fears generally.
What's that book called? Feel the fear and do it anyway. Or something similar...Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

The confidence you get from marathon running is different to bravado type confidence.
Its more to do with being able to focus further ahead and knowing how to trust little building blocks will turn into big achievements, when in the short term they seem insignicant and not worth the effort.
Its known as an 'emotional stabiliser' because day to day ups and downs somehow seem less important and just part of an overall process.Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Afternoon All
Disabled hoist needed in my house this morning, my god my legs were stiff. Anyway didn't have any choice but to get up and get out there so cycled the 2miles to work and actually don't feel too bad this afternoon! (ok so im in agony going up and down the stairs)
Wow there is a lot of talk about races today..you're so committed! Becky that time is amazing, and Donna your time was great for a half. I really need to get a proper training plan written up now, oh and to think about my next race.
Rich what sort of mileage do you think I should be aiming for in a week??I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....
Finally Debt Free...0 -
