Hi again cnoelj! Good to see you, though many commiserations at the loss of your mum. It's very hard to come to terms with, but I'm sure the run would be really good for you and no doubt she'd be 'with' you.:)(Land_of)_Maz wrote:nope, not peeing in a bottle, although have been known to pee outdoors while running, thankfully where i live there are plenty quiet country lanes and no onlookers!
It's a curse i tell ya! being a woman ain't easy......
Not necessarily so Maz. google "shewee" at least with one of those you can avoid the squats and nettles! Feels a bit strange at first, but you adapt!(Land_of)_Maz wrote:And is it just me or does running make anyone else want to go to the toilet... in the other way?
No idea about that one, but the above won't handle it should you get taken short! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Another great (faster than ever) brisk walk today. I don't think I could possibly go any faster than that. Thinking now about running more... or at least trying it and see how it goes.

Thanks everyone.

cnoelj,
It must be hard to get any enthusiasm at all right now, but as you know you always feel better after any sort of run.
Did I notice earlier in the thread that you've done London? If so, just try and concentrate on that feeling just after finishing in The Mall. Its those kind of feelings that make this thing addictive.
I take it we can add you to the member's list?Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

On this reckoning, I'll be as lean as a whippet in no time: :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
THINKING too hard can make you FAT, a study revealed yesterday.
Scientists made the discovery by giving students tough IQ tests, then inviting them to a buffet.
The Canadian volunteers were also asked to tuck in after simply relaxing — and ate almost a third fewer calories.
Blood tests showed the brain workout made the students more hungry by sending glucose and insulin levels haywire.
Researchers in Quebec claim it may explain why today’s kids are getting fatter — while achieving better exam marks.
They warned swotting could be fuelling the obesity epidemic. One said: “This is a factor that should not be ignored.”

I remember this on Dragon's Den. For all the money in the world this looked like a wind up. But apparently not:

Sue,
Great to hear that training is progressing well. Keep it going.
HWGA,

Morning
very quick one got to drop dd at pre-sch and then cycle like mad to work....in the rain again (sick of it)
Chris lovely to see you back and I am so sorry to hear about the death of your mum. Will be checking in later to hear of your impressive runs!
HWGA I think the Egdon Heath Harriers meet on a tuesday night at the squash club if that is any use. You don't have to go every week so it might be an option. Im thinking about it for the winter otherwise I won't really get much chance to run (don't want to go out in the dark on my own).
right really must get a move on 3 days to go ...starting to get a nervous tummy (oh dear better get down to boot to get something for those nerves Maz otherwise I will be doing a Paula on the streets of Bristol!)I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Becky - So what is compeed? Some form of cushioning I assume?
Hi Sorry working my way through last nights posts...
compeed is a brand of blister specific 'plasters' they form a cushion aotund the lbister and have some funny compound that promotes healing - they are so much better than ordinary plasters as they dont come off in the shower or when you run!0 -
Phew okay wow now i've caught up...
Well done Maz on your running club - it sounds good fun!!
Ohh Sally you must be so excited - think of all that running energy your going to create from your butterflies!
Hi and welcome newcomers (and returners) - I'm looking forward to your tales of excellent runs - 6 miles cnoelj - yikes! Wow you must be good if you consider that a short run!!!
