Im a right numpty, could have kicked myself when it started in the middle of town...ended up hobbling around trying not to make it worse!

Jeez! How many injuries do you want? :p

Its open to the air and have had flip flops on trying to let it dry out as quick as possible.

    Good move!

Have you ever used compeed, friend recommended them and said they were marvellous, worth a go? or just stick with the plasters?

No, no idea. But, even with a brand new, raw blister and no covering you wouldn't notice it during the race except the first mile. It wouldn't half sting at the end though!
Its unlikely you'll have much of a problem by the race anyway.

Now I might have to give the run tomorrow a miss. Got to walk 2 miles to work tomorrow anyway so might put some stretches in as I walk (will look so silly but needs must)

    No great loss!

Don't think I can call it buzzing...have been thinking to myself that I will NEVER be this under prepared for a race again. Feel stupid for lack of training, poor diet and generally under prepared. Race infor and t-shirt arrived today too so brought it home thats its only days away.

Oh another question would you wear the t-shirt provided? Bit wary it might cause rubbing in places :rotfl:

I'm going to get stick for saying this again - but just smear vaseline everywhere that could potentially rub and you should be OK.

I did my run - while the children were at karate,

I ran 2.8 miles.......well, I say "ran" but I jogged most of it and walked some of it. It took me 35 minutes which included a stop at Panias house on the way past for a glass of water and to prove, as I stood dripping sweat on her doorstep, that I had actually been for the run as I said I would :D

So, I am very pleased with myself. I have made a start, and what's more I did it on my own - self motivated!!! I think I am more impressed with the fact I didn't cop out of it, as much as anything else!!

Let's just hope I can still walk in the morning........:o

You've hit the nail on the head haven't you? - you've made a start!

You'll know from your other build ups that that is probably the hardest part (along with setting the target, but you've got that sorted)

Loads of time to go as well, so you can build at a very comfortable pace.

    Well done.

Rich you and your vasaline....have a handy sized pot that I can take with me on Sunday :)
Snags and Hypno...well done you 2. Snaggles I always used to feel that way about running and people laughing at my wobbling bottom! Then I thought to myself you know what, at least I am out there running, keeping fit rather than sat in my car getting fat (or fatter) so they can laugh away :)

    Thank you.......

......but running is a bit like dieting for me - I do it for a few days then find that it is easier not to bother. So I have to stick with it!! I am hoping that if I can get up to a half hour run without stopping in the next couple of weeks I will be suitable convinced that I have "taken up running" properly :o

But this time you'll get used to showing off about what you've achieved on here!

And considering your first post yesterday I don't think you'll be struggling to stick with it.
