Once we get to about 15 that should indicate that this thing has got legs and I'll do a post about what I think the next steps might be, and in what order.
The above are purely in the order that people declared themselves 'up for it'.
Positions To Be Filled:
Treasurer
Secretary (Membership)
Secretary (Fixtures)
Secretary (Social)
Secretary (Records)
Coach
+ Maybe others.
Self Nominations:
1. Maz - "I would take on an office bearer type role if required... i could do with the purpose!"
2. Herewegoagain - "I'm game for anythingish"
3. Sallyx - "I volunteer for any role other than treasurer"
4. Rich - "I'm up for being Coach, I like the idea of running but using other people's legs - it appeals to the lazy sod in me"
Other Nominations:
1. Becky - Social Sec (Nominated by Rich)
To be continued...............
I can't dedicate any time to a position until I'm back from my honeymoon, I'm afraid. If you're still short of volunteers in late October, I'm sure there's something I could do.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

HWGA there is no-where here that is worth going to. I actually went to an excellent little shop in Norwich when I was visiting my sister, however there is a good place in bournemouth if you venture that way.
Bournemouth is ok, just need enough time off work to get there, now I've lost weight I need running clothes as well as new trainers, not confident enough for shorts and skimpy tops a la mode Paula and the like:rotfl:lost 3stin 4mnths GC nov£90/£51.65 July£100/£97.67 Aug£90/£18.59LBM Nov05 Loan £4910.65 Paid April07 sealed pot challenge#256Nov06 CC £2,590.56 Paid aug07 + Savings07/08 Night Owl 22#Mortgage £87,000/£84,000/ £82,261.00/£81,785.30 £80,268/£75402.00/£71229.15 DFW NERD 987 Long Haul member 125 debt free 24th aug 070 -
I have a rough idea where EC2 is (I only moved here last week!), but SE19 is beyond me!
It is lovely and I'm really really lucky to have a gated garden so if all else fails I can round circuits round it... but I tend to run down the embankment as its very flat and there are lots of other runners to wave at!
Its the 25th I think, I'll prob go for a few drinks (they might even go to my choice pub so thats nice).

I love the area where I live, it's the nicest area I could afford to buy in and it's still good value for money IMO. But zone 3 is definitely "commute in" and make the last train home or you'll be on the night bus for a while (they go round the houses a bit). The city (i.e. Londoners' call the city of London that) is immediately East of the City of Westminster i.e. where you work. Not very exciting, a few decent "after work" places but they might as well pack it up in boxes over the weekend for all the life that's there on Saturdays and Sundays.
The embankment is good for running, nice and wide so you don't get held up by people. One of my training runs for the 10k was from Canary Wharf to Westminster along the river via Wapping, Tower Bridge, Tower of London and the Embankment. Great views and nice and flat (OK maybe hilly areas like where I live are actually better for training). When you say "other runners to wave at", do you mean "other runners to check out"? Be honest!
I think I've got a wedding on the 25th Oct, but if I'm wrong, I'll definitely show my face.Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
ooooh i can't drink champers... but will they let me drink some plain ole white wine?
My sorbowhatsits neer arrived again today..... pah!
Erin is at brownies tonight, so will cycle up to meet her on her bike, and i will run home, just under 2 miles i think.... but if i cycle up then does that make me a duathlete??!
or even better, i went swimming yesterday so a triathlete!??
<i'll get my coat>I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -

ooh thanks for the info! I was running from Liverpool street to here for a while so I had to go through a bit of the city...smoggy is my overiding impression!
No they are mostly women and I mean to wave - I'm from the West Country we're a friendly bunch!
Night bus - phew thats not in my league yet (I'm still struggling with the tube since I never use it!). However, if you want to walk around central London then I'm the bees knees (as I commuted to Kings Cross for a while so I've run from there too) :T.
No worries about the meet...this will be my first DFW meet so I suspect it will be an experience0 -

The first one's a biathlete, but I've got to say your straw clutching abilities are even more finely honed than mine!Gt NW 1/2 Marathon 21/2/2010 (Target=1:22:59) (6:20/mile) 1:22:47 (6:19):j:j

Doesn't the Biathlon involve cross country skiing and shooting?! Maz's training is certainly taking an interesting direction:rotfl:Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
