Hi Guys,
pjc that sounds like a great run - what a beautiful setting for running! Good luck with the training...
Red - you'll be fine - I bet you surprise yourself with how much you do!
I did a longer than usual run today - 3.2 miles so slightly better, hopefully I can do 4 on the way home!
Hope everyone's having a good monday!

Hellooo
Going to try run number 2 today. Just the school run again, but if it goes okay, I might go out for a 'proper' run mid-week. No ill effects from my run the other day, apart from aching intercostal (?) muscles, but that was because of the asthma attack, not the running."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -

Good on ya HWGA :T :T
I'm not sure about time - at the moment I think 5 hours might be do-able but really don't know! I'm doing it for the Stroke Association as my lovely gran died from a stroke two years ago, and my grandad (her husband) has also had several and I've seen how much effect it's had on him.
Keep refreshing my email to see if they've got back to me now!!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

Yes, I'm still alive and planning some very punishing runs to repent for the weekend of self abuse. I'll have to catch up on the 6 or 7 pages of new posts since I last checked in and draft a long post later! Hope you're all well and welcome to the new member(s) I've spotted already...Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -

How long a post, do I need tea and biccies ready to make myself comfortable for this?:rotfl::rotfl:

I've got it going in notepad, adding to it as I read through the posts! It will contain some anecdotes from my weekend, so could require tea and biccies just while you wait for me to type it up!Running Club targets 20105KM - 21:00 21:55 (59.19%)10KM - 44:00 --:-- (0%)Half-Marathon - 1:45:00 HIT! 1:43:08 (57.84%)Marathon - 3:45:00 --:-- (0%)0 -
morning all.........
well sorry for my absence yesterday.. i always avoid showing my face when i plan to run and don't..... i did think i would come on here and say i'd ran but i cannot lie to you.... so you're honoured!
childcare issues coupled with terrible wind (of the meteorological variety!) and rain put paid to my plans....
However me n erin went swimming in the afternoon, it was a mahoosive pool, bigger than my regular place, managed loads of lengths... but wasn't counting....
swimming was fair... need to go swimming without little miss so i can really focus on my stroke and manage to crack this swimming/breathing malarky!
Beinerts, hope you had a nice time! can't wait to hear!
Rich - me as numero uno! why you're too kind! and you cannot be laying any kinda GB claim on andy murray, well actually you can have him as far as i'm concerned... i do hope he holds his nerve today though (it is today i assume vs federer? not tomorrow or yesterday!)I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....(it's part of my charm!)0 -
The OV Diary
Total workload for week: 46 miles (12 miles running, 34 miles walking).
Considering nothing fell off and nothing broke I've got to put that down as a reasonable enough first week.
I said before last week that the plan was to do 4 weeks of 4 easy sessions per week, but that plan has already outstayed it's welcome and been booted outta the door.
The idea now is to keep the total workload around 50 miles per week (ish), 2 marathons per week total workload is quite enough for now thank you very much, and slowly increase the percentage of running over the next few weeks until it is all running.
I'm claiming 2 PBs this week in a 'straw clutchingly I've not had a PB for ages and ages and I want one now or else I'm going to scweam and scweam and scweam until I get one' type of way. (Bonnie Langford just sprung to mind then, closely followed by Becky for some reason).
PB1 - I'm damn sure I've never walked 34 miles in a week before so that's a PB (and it can stay that way, quite frankly)
PB2 - Number of posts on a forum (you lot are a really, really bad influence, or maybe a good one? The jury is out)
So a pleasing week and whatsmore when I was going through those marathon photos the other night something reignited deep down inside me (which just goes to show you shouldn't eat food containing hot chilli before siiting down to look at photos! Boom, boom :rotfl:).
Ok, I'll get my coat.....:o
