  • I recovered = I could walk!! Garmin still not recognising garmin so have emailed the co to ask if Ican swap with a 205 - fingers crossed! It was meant to be idior proof but am obviously the wrong kind if idiot! No running as chucking it down here & hacked off...What new trainers did you get SW & where from?!

  • I ended up getting Brooks Adrenalin GTS 7 from Brooks direct online, for £60 bargain as they are a top trainer.

    Did 18 miles on Sunday in 2:56 and was absolutely knackered!!! but did it

    blimey SW thats fab!!! i'm not doing so good. will be running absolutely fine then all of a sudden my legs will turn to lead for about 200 yards, making it really hard to run, no idea at all what is causing it!!! off to the gym tonight, will let you know how i get on!!!!

    Its just getting the miles into your legs, you will get stronger as it goes on, believe me 18 miles was a killer and still another 8 to go after that!!

    It is getting better though, did 16 week before and felt it at 14.5, but yesterday did 18 and felt it at about 16, so stamina is kicking in, dont mention the Plymouth hills though, I hate them with a vengeance, trouble is cant go on any runs where we havent got hills!!

    i live in norfolk, completely opposite issue!! te he!!!!

    is that all it is then? thats good to know!!!! just wierd the way it clears after a while. bloomin bodies!!!

  • yep trust me, my legs felt dead after about 4 miles yesterday, then they cleared, you jammy monkey living in Norfolk, flat as hell, mind you all the hills should make the marathon easy!!! - I wish!!!

    Funny you should be talking about hills as I have just this minute got back from a hilly 6 mile run. I have been doing the hills and the speed work. Now it is a case of putting in the longer runs.

    ello you! good for you with the hill run, offdown to kent this weekend to see the folks so will make the most of some hill training there. what speed work programme do you follow if i may be so bold.

    fantastic SW, keep reading these posts with great interest, just wish could join you all, but my knee still plays up after about 4 miles 'ouch'.
    the hills will defo help with london, i used to do a hilly stamina sapping 20 on a sunday and when it came to the first london never started hurting till around 23, snowdonia was different though lol well done to all whatever the goals x
